NHS Dentists.

Do you know that for sure? ...i really need root canal (I never thought i'd ever say this)treatment! The emergency dentist that i saw yesterday said no NHS dentist will do it.
Had it done in last few weeks. Couldn’t afford the £650 (route canal) + another £700 for the crown from my private dentist, so they referred me to an NHS one. Said there would be a long wait, but was seen in less than a month

EDIT: it was FoC too

When I booked appt in my NHS dentist 2 weeks ago (and appt for crown was only 1 week) ....bloke in front of me was back because of pain after root canal, which he had done the day before, so they do it ;)

My NHS dentist said they can't do it. They don't have the ability. They advised me to go private. I'll have to start selling drugs for that. I have no money. None. I'm on sick due to long Covid (and a few other reasons) so I can't work. They even told me the tooth is a "time bomb".
Is that it now? Do i just accept defeat and wait for the inevitable? Isn't there a help line i can call? Can any Bluemooners perform root canal treatment?
On second thoughts...don't answer that.

My dentist went private work only, about 3 years ago.
He does everything and in all fairness the Practise offered me an alternative NHS dentist.
I like the fact I go on my terms now rather than every 6 months, or face the prospect of being kicked off the list was how it used to be.
I am usually seen within a couple of days of booking and unless it’s a big job, it’s done there and then whereas before, I had to go back and it’s about an hour from where I live.
It does wind me up a bit however when I still see patients with NHS forms in their hands waiting to see him and think, how have they managed that.

I'm currently sat in my dentist waiting to have root canal done. £565.
It's a 2 appointment process apparently.
My appointment was at 2.30 (really)

Is there a fly in the waiting room? There's always one here. And a noisy kid. And a friendly loony that everyone tries to ignore. That's me :)

One guy had me in a headlock trying to "fix" one of my back teeth back in the day at that NHS clinic near the 7 sisters. I never went back after that

The leading Dental Consultant at the Infirmary had to kneel on my chest to get one of my wisdom teeth out.
