All those underpaid overworked nurses will be delighted at this i am sure.

Malta was awarded the George Cross for defying the Nazi' in WW2 when it had only 3 planes called faith hope and charity to fight against the Luftwaffe bombardment of the port which was vital to British control of the Med.

Now the NHS gets the George Cross because it had 3 masks to fight against the bombardment of Covid.

Britain today. We are a parody of ourselves.

She may well be a good old bird, but this wasn't her idea.

Its pure deflection away from giving the staff a pay rise

When they get a pay rise will you recant this statement and actually see it for what it is? Or will you just say “it ain’t enough” - in other words nothing this government does would meet with your approval?

I dare say those who work in care homes will be up in arms about not being recognised, as will teachers and other key workers.

When they get what they deserve under this government I will probably eat my hat, dance naked on Market Street and wear an I love Ryan Giggs T-shirt to a City game.

I do agree with you though that other key workers are not being recognised, but it highlights why the NHS has been singled out, They want to offer platitudes not pay rises.
