When they get what they deserve under this government I will probably eat my hat, dance naked on Market Street and wear an I love Ryan Giggs T-shirt to a City game.

I do agree with you though that other key workers are not being recognised, but it highlights why the NHS has been singled out, They want to offer platitudes not pay rises.

When they get a pay rise will you recant this statement and actually see it for what it is? Or will you just say “it ain’t enough” - in other words nothing this government does would meet with your approval?

I dare say those who work in care homes will be up in arms about not being recognised, as will teachers and other key workers.

It will never be enough - this govt gave billions - enough to fund a decent pay rise - to mates who in many cases were unable to source the PPE or if they did it was inadequate for purpose. The track and trace has swallowed even further billions and has never been fit for purpose - except a s a vehicle of channelling funds to mates. We had govt ministers denying and continuing to deny PPE shortages when the footage exists of NHS staff wearing bin liners in lieu of PPE.

They were sending untested Covid carriers back into care homes where thousands died and again little or no PPE killed staff - the govt cares even less about the care sector its privately run and they simply reduce the funding and leave it to struggle but of course all the problems were caused by the very existence of the Romanian care worker who was wiping your nan's arse for minimum wage.

The Police, the Fire Service and the Ambulance Services were all expected to carry on as normal wearing a flimsy mask. Bus driver died in droves particularly TfL drivers but the money tree was being shaken in the direction of others so for me I can well accept people seeing right through this pathetic gesture politics and Johnsons cabal can get to fuck.
