But 'kill' is the correct word. If a person or animal is alive, then you stop it being alive, you are killing them/it. It's exactly the correct word.

I don't believe you're "genuinely interested" in anyone's views as you've already made your own perfectly clear. You've stated you don't agree with abortion in cases of rape or fatal foetal abnormality, therefore it's not exactly a stretch to conclude that you don't agree with abortion at all. You haven't even commented on the original topic of this thread but I would hazard a guess that you feel no sympathy for the young woman concerned.

When you take a blood sample you don't talk about killing that bit of blood though the cells die.When you remove a cancer you don't talk about killing it.
A foetus is a bundle of cells incapable of independent existence, it is a very different entity from a baby.
I feel very sorry for anyone who miscarries, but what they have lost is potential and a vision for what they wanted not a separate independent human.
In my view what a woman wants for her body is paramount. A full term pregnancy with a baby at the end is fabulous for those who want it but generally both a physical and psychological burden whether wanted or not and for those who don't for law makers to inflict it on people by refusing them access to abortion services is uncaring beyond belief.

As I was leaving this morning [kids in bed, off school, wife works from home], the news started going on about the Pope giving out advice on family life, marriage and so on. This from a celibate in a dress. My wife and I just looked at each other and burst out laughing. Why don't people see how ridiculous it all is?
