On holiday so missed the UK coverage but just caught up on YouTube. Have to say I was expecting much worse. Was hardly a rant and reflected a lot of the discussion we had in the bar after the match. Basically said we are work in progress... Not sure what the fuss is all about?

You said that Quinn had said nothing wrong even though according to him we were fortunate whilst those superstars over at the swamp had shown 'stardust'

I've no idea what he meant either. :-)

Missed that. The rags look fairly strong but a bit one dimensional. Think they will take the lead and possibly win the early Derby but we will win the war this season. I used to see Quinn at the dogs nearly every week with Mike quigley - drank with him in the salutation several times. Seems sound to me. Read his book and he spoke highly of city fans. Think we are getting a touch sensitve although I agree the media has been a joke so far this season. I tend to try and ignore it or it would get me stressed. Danny mills meanwhile - I would happily torture the bald ****.

yep he's wrong but i feel he meant well and the record of aguero in all comp's for man city aguero is great and with injury and playing time to goals it looks even better. in the 5 seasons and what manchester city have won the PFA awards have over looked the managers and players even in pellegrini double winning seasons got over looked how aguero or silva never got a sniff is a joke

Over the weekend I saw a lot on social media comparing Drogba and Aguero's stats: Drogba 254 games, 104 goals
Aguero 151 games, 105 goals.
Most neutrals that were commenting were saying they preferred Drogba to Aguero. I appreciate it is social media and to take those things with a pinch of salt but as you have mentioned, we have won a lot in the last 5 years and also have the best record for finishing in the top 2. For no one connected to City to have won any of the big prizes, or at least be nominated is a disgrace and quite frankly it points to something more sinister at play.

I like Quinn and having met him and discussed City with him not long ago I have no doubt he's still got a lot of time for the club and the fans. But that "stardust" comment does highlight the difference in the coverage united have received over their summer spending compared to ours. There seems to be this glorification of united's latest overhaul. They've got the special one (only available because he got sacked by Chelsea), they've re-signed the world's most expensive player (who they sold for a nominal fee only a few years earlier) oh and they've signed Zlatan (a 35 year old, blocking Rashford's game time) yet somehow the money in all this plays second to the "Manchester United" myth, that this is all great for the game. City on the other hand continue to be labelled big spending etc and whilst Pep has received a lot of attention, there is an undercurrent of a willingness for him to fail. Not many pundits praised the win against Stoke, instead preferring to talk about the result being flattering. While the wankfest over united's Friday night game was quite sickening.

The contrast in attitudes towards City as opposed to other clubs is frustrating, but it's something we are used to and even if the media coverage or individual accolades don't acknowledge City it is an incredible time to be a blue and the football we play is a joy to watch. Without going all Keegan I will love it if Aguero hits 25+ goals this season and we win the league. It may not be what the pundits want but it will do for me!

We win away from home 4-1 at Stoke, one of the hardest places to go & get a result especially for one of the top clubs as Stoke always seem to raise their game against the big clubs. They win at home against Southampton who are being weakened by the season as the big clubs continually take their best players. This summer they have lost Mane, Pelle & Wanyama with nobody of any note coming in to replace them, yet their win is hailed as a great result. It is obvious to a village idiot which is the better result.

Can't stand Quinn to be honest. Never have been able to since 1994.

We we getting beat 5-0 at the swamp, when the television camera suddenly panned onto the centre circle, in injury time, and captured Nial, who was obviously more than happy to see the funny side of the whole thing, laughing like a drain. (with Brian McClair).

I actually agree with what he said. We looked very good in parts on Saturday. But equally very disjointed in parts .
Well get better the more the players train under pep, which was his gist.
 
Niall Quinn, Steve McManaman and Danny Mills are the City representatives in the media. Fucking hell we've had some massive twats play for us.

It wasn't though. He said we were fortunate whilst in the same breath lauded utd for some supposed 'stardust' on offer in their 2-0 home win against a terrible Southampton.
