Nice touch by the club..

MCFC have treated Neil Young disgracefully over the years ( Admittedly not the new owners ) by consistantly refusing to grant him the Testimonial he was Promised years ago , despite pleas from city fans everwhere . so its all a bit late in the day for me !

So the options are a. invent a time machine and go back to fix things b. petulantly don't bother doing anything ever cos "it's too late" or c. keep counting down the days until you die you miserable get

Im not being petulant mate. or miserable . I just wonder why clubs like West Ham with Bobby Moore , and now City wait untill one of their legends and fans favourites are Seriously ill, before they get the recognition they deserve.

OK fair enough, probably was a bit harsh, sorry. I think perhaps as a society we expect to solve problems by throwing money at them ... and unless the problem is as simple as "not enough money" then inevitably it just ends up easing the consciences of the benefactors. Throwing money at Neil Young won't solve his problems, but showing our appreciation of his efforts and achievements is pretty much all we have left to give.

I agree, he should have had his testimonial a long time ago, when he had his health and could fully enjoy the proceeds.

I agree mate , its the testimonial , or lack of it, that sticks in my throat ..Neil Young is my dads favourite EVER city player , and all my childhood he kept telling me how underrated he was compared to Lee, Bell , Summerbee.....So hearing that he's terminally ill is really sad ,
