Nicely does it? - no it ....... doesn't

I definitely think that Pearce and Sven's refusal to berate refs backfired. If it came to a 50-50, I'm sure that even if it was subconsciously, the officials would rather upset someone they knew wouldn't monster them in a press conference afterwards than risk upsetting the moaners

Age is a massive problem for you. Even Chelsea are struggling to get the players to replace their ageing players.

I can't see Ribery, Aguerro, Villa, Fabregas, Ronaldo or Rooney etc signing for City.

You'll be stuck with the Bellamys and Bridges for a good few years yet.

We'll comfort ourselves with the knowledge that we can take any one of your players any time we like, and that my chicken foetus mourning friend is what you and Moyes and the rest of your shitty little candle lighting tax burdens are really upset about.

I like Bobby the way he is: cool. When Carlos scored our second the other day he just looked so dignified and laid back, as if he was taking it all for granted.
Like he was sending a message to the rest of the Prem saying: "Get used to us scoring and winning games, 'cos it's going to happen regularly from now on."

Don't want him to turn into a nasty, narrow-minded bigot like Taggart, Gollum and Pulis etc.

I agree with the OP. Our apparent willingness to roll over and be shit upon by opposing managers, players and the FA alike is annoying - it just encourages them to shit on us even more. We should be telling other managers to fuck off and mind their own business, making specific personal attacks when necessary and complaining loudly and publicly to the FA at their inconsistency when it comes to how they deal with our players by comparison to others (Adebeyor/Gerrard for example). Ferguson has proven that this tactic works, so all of this 'rise above it' bollocks serves no purpose.

Were not any small club to be pushed around like Everton or Aston Villa, We will be winning the Major Trophies in England and Europe over the next decade. Lets start standing up for ourselves in Press Conferences, Programme notes, post Match Interviews and FA complaints

I love it that all of our most recent Managers have been well liked and respected individuals. Hughes deserves a lot of credit and Physcho was immense in that no matter how bad a decision he never gave an incompetent Ref a hard time.

However the OP is right. We need to stand up and defend ourselves more.

If I had been Mr Cook last week I would have called a press conference at the Club with the speakers being Kidd and Viera sat either side of Bellamy and I would have DEMANDED that the FA give a full account of their decisions in relation to the two absolutely ASTONISHING let offs given to the Overrated one that is Gerrard.

Taggert had his say; we should have had ours.
