Yes he was a City fan before he got knicked. Dave Wallace from King of the Kippax wrote to him and sent him copies of KK while he was in the Singapore prison .When he was released Dave invited him to a charity event in the Platt Lane complex .Members from the Prestwich&Whitefield were there and invited him to a supporters meeting .After that he came to Prestwich regulary and even played in a charity football match for the branch against Droylsden Supporters. and came to a race night where we introduced him to Gary Owen .We had novelty cheques made out which he signed and yes we made him honoury treasurer. Had many a drink with him in Prestwich and took him in the Albert near the ground where he was mobbed The day after we were promoted against Blackburn loads of us from Prestwich went on the piss with him and Alistar Mackintosh in Wetherspoons in town

Yes really down to earth stayed at my house a couple of times .He ran thecLondon Marathon and our branch donated £500 .He had a shit time in Singapore prison he reckins the only reason he got swift medical treament was the authorities didnt want a high profile prisioner popping his clogs in there knick

I used to pass through Singapore regularly in the days when he was banged up in Changi prison so mailed him some City programs and magazines. I never got a reply so had no idea if he ever received them but it was the least I could do for a fellow Blue.
