In a way I agree, but in another way I don't. Khuasanov has been outstanding when selected, but Nico has been there the whole season, rarely left out.

You could make cases for a number of others, and you could make case for Nico as young player, but I really think he fully deserves it.

defensively though,
you just know for a fact that when near to his own cornerflag with one or even two opposition players right up his arse he somehow has not only the physical strength to keep them at arms length but the genuine ballskills to get past them and not just lump it but make a great pass.

respect to guardiola too for seeing it in him.

I suppose I'm factoring in a rocky start, not speaking English, having to fashion out a partnership with a fellow new starter to becoming a Zabaleta-like/ Walker hybrid warrior in defence?

There's so much there to deal with and he was brilliant.

I know O'Reilly's one of ours, but I wouldn't have minded Khusanov either.
 
Khusanov is currently my favorite player, but there’s no denying O’Reilly’s contributions on both ends of the pitch. I suspect he’d have a hell of a career as the midfield destroy we will need.
 
Superb season for the lad and what a gem of a player he is, I'm sure he'll shine for England in the WC and be one of the first names on the teamsheet next season.

However, for Haaland not to win really is astonishing (people mentioning AK45 who didn't play first half of the season really!), I appreciate he has and has set higher standards over the years but comfortably won the PL golden boot and not even in our top 3 players, come off it.

Needs to be used more, rather than him adding stuff to his game. Anyway, I do agree Nico deserved it, he's only going to get better as well.
