Nicola Sturgeon

Surely I am not the only one who thinks this woman gets an easy ride in the media. She is openly discriminatory against English people, you could say racist in her government's treatment of English students charging them for tuitition fees when every other country in the EU gets free tuition in Scotland. Her country is propped up financially by the UK with the heavilly subsidised block grant yet she continually blames everybody else south of the border for her own financial problems. She has the cheek to criticise May for trying to cheery pick the best brexit deal for the UK saying she wants to remain part of the customs union while she wants independence for Scotland but maintaining the UK pound amongst other things. I find her a total hypocrite. Blair's devolution poured petrol on the flames of nasty far right racist scottish nationlism which is represented by this awful woman, who gets far to much air time.
Presumably she hates the English so much, that she lets the Welsh and Northern Irish to study in Scotland for free?

She discriminates against them as well.

Not very inclusive are the SNP.
What the SNP do, is find ways to implement their policies in Scotland. She needs the British tax payer British Students to subsidise one of their flagship policies. She uses a little know EU loophole that says you can’t discriminate against member states but you can discriminate internally (funnily enough, because they aren’t able to interfere with any members internally policies or sovereignty, if you will).
Because she has no real interest in the SNP at Westminster, she does everything in her power to keep them relevant in Scotland.
Interestingly enough, had she gained independence and the Brexit referendum hadn’t happened, the sheer volume of English students trying to get into Scottish universities, would probably have bankrupted them, as her discrimination wouldn’t then have been allowed!

I just think her policies are out and out racist , she just gets an easy ride because it's good old let's bash the English and we put up with it. She's a really nasty piece of work , extreme nationalism at its worst.

Don’t all countries discriminate based on nationality? Theory being that as a national of the country you get special perks simply for being a national.

Not her biggest fan, myself, but worst example of extreme nationalism you could think of? ;-)

She is a right wing nationalist bigot, ,leading a party of right wing, nationalist bigots.

There is a reason these pro-monarchy, pro-big business zealots are known as the tartan Tories, because they are.

If she had been borne in Carlisle she would be a conservative MP. They are the worst kind of hate filled, hypocritical bigots.

Ladies and gentlemen, i give you a left wing fucking nutjob!

Spot on with that assessment.
I think that there is an element to the SNP's issues being simply because they are an example of being 'just an opposition party'. They know how to moan and blame others and they know how to promise the earth to the electorate - but do they know how to administer? Do they know how to make policy that might be unpopular? Not from what I can see.

So they give free prescriptions etc. all very popular - but these things come at a cost - and the more that they get devolved powers the less they can continue to blame the UK government.

Where I think some serious issues will be exposed is the manner in which they implement the devolved social security powers. They have just gone live with the first benefit - not surprisingly an example of giving more money to recipients of benefits than would be the case in the rest of the UK. The next benefits rolled out will be similar. But it is not just the costs of the increased benefits - it is the costs of implementation.

Not only the setting up of the Agency but all the staff and systems (because they must be seen to be different from and not reliant on DWP) etc. I think that by 2020/21 there could be some real issues coming through for which the buck cannot just be passed.

I don't know enough about Scottish politics to comment to be honest, is she really tanking the country?
Her government have passed very little legislation this term and her much heralded education bill has been shelved. Many in Scotland share the same political homelessness that is evident in England. If an election was called tomorrow, I couldn't find it in my heart to vote for anyone.
