He isn't the quickest anyway, that doesn't improve with age.I can’t say I’ve seen the guy play but since when does age dictate how quick you are? Walker is 30 and easily the quickest player in our squad.
Won’t he cost around £20m?At this pont mate I'd take anyone over Mendy who has pace. My only issue is he will be £40m-£50m and will be a short term solution and he isn't the quickest himself.

I'm not moaning about Mendy like he's always been slow? What does how quick he used to be matter now? He is slow and it's an issue and leaves us vulnerable as he is not the best positionally and gets caught out and out paced. replacing him with another slow full-back is putting a plaster on a gaping wound imo. I dont think this is the lad for us but this late in the window, not sure what options we have. Perhaps we will spend 20m and get great service, dont always have to be 50m+

I think the Messi saga completely derailed our window more than we realise and players we wanted either were tempted elsewhere (Chilwell) or clubs decided to play hard ball (Napoli).Question is why we did not look to do this early in the summer? Hes good short term option so gives instant impact and keep Mendy as back up for this season and in 2021 summer take the hit and loan Mendy till his deal expires and sign young LB to complement Tagliafico. I mean we can still do this obviously but why it took so long?
