Tagliafico is one of those signings you can't get excited about until he starts showing it on the pitch for us. Unless you are so fed up with Mendy that any LB will do.

Nothing stands out about him, in terms of his career trajectory and abilities. He is Argentina's starting LB. But then you remember that so was Rojo.

This is not a criticism. LB is just one of those positions where it's really hard to get someone world class.

Tagliafico is worldclass. Check out the scouting report I posted. I know he plays in the dutch league but he was instrumental to Ajax succesful campaign in the UCL too.

There are no better options at leftback at this point and for these money. I’d honestly be surprised if Ajax let him go this late in the window.

I read the entire report. The fact that it's the Dutch league has to be taken into account when comparing him with players playing in La Liga, Premier league, Bundesliga and even Ligue 1.

I do agree that there are probably no better options. I'd be content with him being another Clichy.

Solid player, not especially fast, can pass it around a bit, composed and usually likes to stay on his feet. But is capable of a reckless slide every now and then from what I have seen.

Seems good value for the fee quoted. Him and Mendy on the left, Walker and Cancelo on the right, ok for me!
