he has agreed on a verbal new contract with HSV so he was set to sign a new contract with them hence the bigger sum in transfer fee... is that so hard to understand?

Even if it expired in May, we need him now and Hamburg know we've got cash and can't afford to wait. Paying over the odds despite what MH & GC keep saying is going to be inevitable in all our dealings- its the rough which comes with the smooth of having all this cash.
