Nigel de Jong is also one booking away from a two-game ban, but if he can get through the next two fixtures without receiving a yellow card he will have passed the threshold for suspensions for the latter part of the season.

so he has 11 yellow cards already?

Wondering whether its worth resting him for the Burnley game. We can't afford for him to be suspended vs United and Arsenal.

Out of interest, what is the suspension? 1 or 2 games? If it's one he should have got himself booked last night.

maybe for the burnley game play zabba in the holdng role

or even play kompany there and move richards/ned to centre half with toure

we need dejong for the bigger games

and play viera instead? No thanks!

Having just looked at the rules I think the 10 bookings/2 match ban happens regardless. It's only the 5 yellow cards after half way through the season that is relaxed.

Thought Zabba got booked last night therefore has got 10 yellows so misses next two games.
