This genius does not get enough credit, at least not by the nontechnical people. A genius nobody has let matched. His inventions changed the world into what it is today. We take technology for granted, and sometimes we fail to see how beautiful it is and how hard our lives would be if it wasn't for our technology. The greatest engineer of all time.

If you guys have spare 90mins watch this good documentary about him.

I rank it him above Einstein in my all time revolutionary minds list.

Indeed a very brilliant mind who does not get as much credit as some of the other greats of yesteryear, it is said he could take an idea and build it piece by piece in his head with no need for notes drawings etc

Electricity we use now was his creation, unfortunatley he was funded by JP Morgan and a lot of his stuff will never see the light of day, especially free electricity etc

I think i am right that when he died his notes and books strangely disappeared from his room and have never been seen since

One of my heroes alongside Einstein and Woz. It's not just his undeniable contribution but also his humanitarian vision. I think Assassin's Creed might have brought him a wider audience though. Kudos Ubisoft.

It is always nice to see topic about this great mind, maybe greatest of all times. A lot of people doesn't know that he is most important person for our life stile today, he is father of alternately current (AC), wich made posible to transfer electricity on huge distances ( direct current, or DC, could not go on huge distances becouse of huge loses of energy, so you had to have small power plant for every few blocks).

He also made a lot of devices we use today, or had great influence on making it with his discoverys, everybody should learn about him, because life we know, wouldn't be posible without him, some of his researches are not explained yet becouse they are so much advanced and hard to get it.

Nikola Tesla = Greatest mind ever lived (if you ask me :))

Tesla's Hotel Room... by The Handsome Family.

In the last days of wonder
When spirits still flew
where we sat holding hands
In half-darkened rooms

Nicola Tesla
In the hotel New Yorker
nursing sick pigeons
by the open window

dreamed of a death ray
To disintegrate matter
detected Morse code
From faraway planets

he couldn’t stand the touch
of hair or of skin
but stroked feathers gently
on trembling wings

and drew plans for a camera
To photograph thoughts
Vacuum tube lights
Wireless phones

In the last days of wonder
When spirits still flew
Round bubbling test tubes
In half-darkened rooms

Edison and Westinghouse
in silk brocade
ate oysters Rockerfeller
with French champagne

But Tesla grew thin
eating only saltines
going days in his lab
Without any sleep

dreaming of god
as an X-ray beam
he was hit by a cab
while crossing the street

lying on his bedspread
he struggled to breathe
the light bulbs exploded
the air filled with wings

In the last days of wonder
When spirits still flew
Tesla vacated
his half-darkened room
