Anyone else on here love them?

Kurt was magnificent.
A truly gifted individual.

I know this might sound totally out of touch, but I actually think they're underrated! Not by the music media, who probably go right over the top, but by the normal music buying public. Nirvana are awesome, but seem to be only liked by the music media and 15 year olds who think the world is against them. More adults should listen to them.

I agree entirely.

I was castigated on here a while back because I said I liked them. Mainly because I am in my mid forties. But the point is that Kurt was of MY generation and did not simply sing to kids but to the disenfranchised of whatever age. I discovered Nirvana when I was about 28 and my son was 10. He adored them and yet it is me who now thinks they have depth.

Their lyrics are just so brilliant and will stand the test of time I think. And as you get older they actually make more and more sense.

I was supposed to see them at the G-Mex in April or may 94. I had one of the last standing tickets available. it cost 15 notes. He kills himself and I get a refund on my ticket not knowing that it was worth 250 quid. On the way home from the refund my car exhaust falls off. Gutted. One of the worst days of my life.

Great band, i dont think anything has come close since.

I agree. Certainly not in the last few decades anyway.

What I found fascinating about Kurt is how "still" he can be sometimes when he is singing. Almost like he is in a zone that he cannot get anywhere else.

His vulnerability and intelligence are so endearing.

Wasn't thinking of that one in particular because it's a bit obvious, but thanks for posting it ;-)

More his ability to just stand there when "live" and blot everything out. I know he goes a bit mental at times but there is footage where he does little other than sing and barely move.

-- Sat May 15, 2010 11:02 pm --

I used to love them when I was younger.

In Utero is better than Nevermind in my opinion. More raw. Saying that I am gonna put 'on a plain' on now... what a tune!

I've got that on now too!!!!!

LOL!!
