No Agenda - Mick Dennis

He's right about letting Bellamy go though. We handed him over to them for nothing. At the time I said we would regret it somewhere down the line.

And a magistrate, don't forget.

I got a reply which, I'll be honest, surprised me.

You are unique -- the only one of all the City fans who have emailed me to descend into witless abuse. I have replied to them all, despite some stuff that is going on in my private life, and so, despite the tone and content of your email, I will give you the courtesy of a reply.

I have repeatedly written and broadcast that, if anyone had to "strike oil", I am glad it is City, whose supporters deserve reward for their extraordinary loyalty when the club went down the divisions. I have also written and broadcast on many occasions that the current City regime are showing a proper and considerable commitment to their community and have made the "match-day experience" among the best in the game.

My recent articles, which have upset you and your club's fans, also included pro-City comments which have been disregarded by those in a rush to condemn me. The main column article alongside the "City's millions" piece began by making the point that Roberto Mancini's card-waving provoked a faux fury which was an intemperate response to something which did not hurt anybody. My piece this week about the handball law began and ended by stating that City should not have had a penalty awarded against them.

As soon as I learned this week about City stopping Tevez's wages, I realised I had made a serious error on that. In my defence, it was widely reported initially that City were continuing to pay him. But I applaud City's stance and it will give me a peg on which to hang a piece in which I can apologise for that mistake.

There was also a sloppiness about the fact that neither Adebayor nor Tevez was signed by RM. I knew that, but in a very short item was trying to make a general point about what I still think is an extraordinary ability to "park" expensive assets. Bellamy's stint in the Championship was another example.
That is a relatively new development and one that, I think, has distorted the PL's competition.

But City didn't start that distortion and any fair-minded assessment of what I have written and broadcast over the years and recently could not lead to the belief that I have suggested City are the root of all evil. I have awarded that distinction the former Governor of Chukota. I have been fiercely critical of many clubs when I have genuinely thought it necessary. That is why, currently, I am getting more abuse from Liverpool fans than City supporters. But I praise clubs as well, including City. It's just that you are too paranoid to notice.

Because of the abusive nature of your email, I have now ensured that future correspondence from you goes straight to my 'junk'.

So there you go... Not sure about the abusive suggestion, I held back... I did call him a horrible little man though!

So pretty much every reply he writes must go along the lines of

Dear X

I also write positive pieces about your club, but you only notice the negative. I have put your email address onto my 'block list' so I don't have to justify my skewed rants to you ever again.
Also, I am a referee.

Sincerely, Mick.

He's didn't reply to my e-mail and it wasn't abusive. If this guy is a magistrate then I feel sorry for anyone looking for justice.

Someone send him a link to the thread. Brennan had the guts to come and defend himself, let's see if the referee will.

I must be missing something here

1. I don’t know who Mick Dennis is as I don’t but/read newspapers since I realised that nearly everything in them is drivel.

2. I have read the above OP quote and it appears to reflect my own opinion of the penalty decision by Dowd so I think that's okay.

3. Maybe you could say that the last line is a dig at City, but there are many City fans who thought that not only was it an error to let Bellamy go, but to let him go on a free transfer was bad business on City’s part.

Ive read it through twice and have to agree with you
