Liverpool not after a loan for Carroll, seems they are willing to cut their losses on him according to the telegraph with Fulham in the driving seat as the only club willing to buy him outright as it stands.

Will be interesting to see what happens. I'd guess Carroll got himself a mega-deal in terms of wages bearing in mind the purchase price.

I'd expect that would put him out of the wage structure of pretty much anyone but the top clubs. Wonder if he'll be content to go on loan for a few years and keep drawing his Liverpool salary (partly paid by the loaning club) like Adebadbuy for us?

Jermain Defoe to Reading? Almost every newspaper and sports website are going with this one. Would be shocked to see this happen would have thought he has bigger ambition than to jump into a relegation scrap. Would also be no good for his future England career.

They'll need more than Moutinho and Lloris to compete with us especially if they lose Modric. Van Der Vaart also rumoured to be leaving so it'd cost them a few quid to replace him.

We have reached agreement with Real Madrid C.F. for the transfer of Luka Modrić. The deal was closed in 35 million euros plus the midfielder Nuri Şahin.

The Croatia international joined us from Dinamo Zagreb on the 2008 summer transfer window and went on to make 147 appearances.

We are glad to take in our team such a great player like Nuri and we wish Luka all the best for the future
