Non-League Football Thread

On my way to watch The Mighty Darlo play at Oxford City in National League North.

Yes, Oxford in NLN this season.

The purpose of regional leagues is really lost on them isn’t it. They may as well make them National & rebrand them A & B.

There isn't much choice - there's an imbalance of northern and southern non-league clubs at that level of the pyramid, there are no clubs that you could consider as "northern" in NLS but in NLN there's Peterborough Sports, Oxford City, King's Lynn, Needham Market and even Hereford and Leamington are stretching it a bit. They're all at that level on merit, possibly the only way of making it more regional would be to have a Midlands division as well.

Don’t call it regional then if based on merit.

The issue arises because of the pyramid system.
Two teams come up from both of the North & South leagues into the Conference and four teams get relegated from the Conference - the two most southerly into the South and two most northerly into (you guessed it) the North.
Last season Boreham Wood and Dorking were relegated and went into the South, while Oxford City and Kidderminster ended up in the North.
