Non League: Mossley AFC 1-2 Newcastle Town

Who was he mate ?
I used to play for Mossley :)
What year was that? My Dad played at the end of his career. He started late 60s at City, had been scouted playing for Manchester Boys, played in the reserves with the likes of Corrigan, never made it in City’s first team. Went to Runcorn for 10 years plus then finished his career at Mossley. I would regularly go and watch him with my Grandad, mainly as it meant I got a packet of sweets every week to myself that I didn’t have to share with my siblings ha!

I go to matches at our local Cymru North clubs. Always welcoming, always cheap, and usually attended by a similar bunch of FOC reprobates, doing the rounds of the grounds and nearby pubs.

Never been stuck in car parks, traffic queues, or had to queue for toilets, snack bars etc.

Met quite a few former Welsh players, including legendary rag master criminal Mickey Thomas (who took rag banter a lot better than I expected).

I've seen some cracking games and had a lot of laughs along the way. The football may not be anywhere near as good, but it's a lot more fun than going to the Etihad

I still see City matches on TV or dodgy streams etc, so I'm missing nowt. Just having a better time with like-minded blokes.
Enjoyed a few games that way but haven't been to Cymru in ages. Will have a gander soon. The atmosphere and welcome is generally great in Cymru. No time for TNS though.
