Non League: Mossley AFC 1-2 Newcastle Town

I remember the name from my old City programmes, was he a centre back, blond hair?
He was indeed that sounds like him

He tells me some great stories….best was the 69 Cup Final, he went down as a fan, as he was waiting to get out of Wembley one of the players recognised him and invited him and his pal on the coach back to Manchester

All three goals scored at Seel Park's downhill end. Entertaining game and a crowd of 442. Lucky raffle number 612. I had 614. Chips, okay. Mushy peas, not bad. Decent pin badges. Tenner in. Better coffee than the Etihad. More soft drink choices.
Will try to see more nonleague this year.

Recommend any nonleague grounds? Ideally dog friendly like Abbey Hey, Avro, Maine Road, Wythenshawe Amateurs and West Didsbury & Chorlton etc.
About a mile from where I live and never been to Seel Park. Butchers Arms is decent for a pint if you’re there again, just a few hundred yards from the ground in Top Mossley.

Used to follow Stalybridge Celtic but not been for a few years
Curzon Ashton is closer so I go there occasionally
Do you know Harry Twamley, he used to run Curzon and was a good friend of my late Dad. I’d heard a while ago he wasn’t well, a lovely guy and Curzon is his life.

My dad has lived in mossley about 40 years. I once went in Jd sports in mossley and a kid and bought some trainers off John Wardle. Probably been to Seale park 100 times. A lad called Andy Keogh scored yesteday - name rings a bell must google him.
My mate is “Mr Mossley” he knows virtually everyone in the town, as long as they go for a pint. Without being too intrusive what’s your Dad’s name?

Hi mate - Pete - grey haired old man lives on Stockport road.

Did the club coach call at Matlock derbyshire for a beer on the way back..?
I remember reading this year's ago,but thinking about it,may have been after the semi final win against Everton at Villa Park
Road travel obviously a lot different then.
