(Non-obvious) City players you didn't like

Rodney Marsh-selfish, big headed, never passed the ball when he could dribble and slow the attack down, then lose the ball. Must have been so frustrating to play alongside him. Top the league when we signed him, in my opinion we should not have signed him

Never liked Tevez. Got a bit slated for that on here too.

Creaney pissed me off because we let Walsh go because of him.

Thought David Brightwell was wank and Gaudino looked like a tosser

Terry Cooke and Lee Badbuy for me. Neither as good as they thought ie too good for City when they were crap.

Beagrie- everyone going on about a great deadline signing. He was awful! Just cross it lad! Don't like him as a pundit either. How he got so far in life I don't know.

Seaman- had disaster written all over him when he came. Couldn't move his feet and no agility for years. Good keeper years before us though

Ps glad to see others dislike A Johnson too. Not got a footballing brain (doesnt know how to keep the ball) and not a quick enough winger. Be good for a mid table team!

Goater.

Lovely bloke but a really shit footballer. How he scored so many goals for us is still a huge mystery to me. I don't remember one clean strike of the ball... I understand that he's a legend for most at City, but seriously, he was awful and for him to be revered like he was/is just showed how far we'd actually fallen at that time.

I laugh in the face of tin hats.

I literally just shook my head reading this.
Surely this is a clarkie? Please tell me it is, I don't mind being clarkied on an issue as serious as this

Tony Coton is another for me never forgive him leaving us for the rags as he didnt want to sit on the bench so he went to the swamp and sat lon the bench personally i always preferred Dibble remember when Kendall signed Coton he made debut at Spurs we lost 3-1 then beat Everton at home 1-0 then Coton got injured we played Villa at home on a midweek game Dibble came in had a blinder (think Lakey 1st did his knee) we won 2-1 then we played Sheffield United away on the saturday and judas dropped Dibble to bring Coton back in always pissed me off to this day.
Creaney, Lee Peacock, Fat Bob Taylor, Van Bleurk, Conlon, Buster Philips, Huckerby, Wanchope, Nash none of my favourites either and dont get me started on Robert Hopkins or Trevor Christie(still cant believe we swapped Lillis for him)

peter reid
not sure why just dont remeber him doing anything as a player apart from that goal at villa. maybe my mind is clouded by that shit football we played when he was manager( and yes i know we finished 5th twice)

martin petrov
do i need to say :)

Boateng, thought he was lazy and couldn't be bothered every time he went on the pitch and then took the easy way out rather than fighting for his place.

Ron Futcher
Colin Viljoen
Tommy Booth
Colin Bell - second time around, too crocked to contribute
Aage Hareide
Peter Bodak
Eric Nixon
Barry Siddall
Mark Lillis and Gordon Davies
Sammy McIlroy
Nigel Gleghorn, Wayne Biggins, David Oldfield
Ian Brightwell (crap - the Negouai or Sun Jihai of his day in terms of own goals, sendings off and general screw ups)
All those ex-Everton players Kendall brought in
Tony Cunningham and Justin Fashanu
Steve McMahon
Uwe Rosler - awful after the Horton season
Dickov - despite "the goal" he was generally bobbins, albeit enthusiastic
Lee Crooks - dozy
David James
Egil Ostenstad
Tony Grant - he was always useless
Sun Jihai - terrible
Marc Vivien Foe - RIP but prior to pushing on he was extremely disappointing
BWP - bobbins WP
Lee Croft - fat mardy-arsed and always disappointing
Ireland - bald mardy-arsed and always disappointing save in one season
Flood - Tintinesque mardy-arsed and always disappointing
Dabo - couldn't be arsed
Dickov second time-around - even worse than before

Terry Phelan. Got the ball in his own half, raced up the wing, then lost the ball again and again and again---------. Colin Hendry, over rated and his hair. Which game was it where the team came out into the sunshine, he must have bleached his hair because it was that bright. Everybody was taking the p-ss.

Quite a few for me (in the true spirits of the thread's intention - surprising players, rather that the obvious poor ones):

Trevor Francis - Obviously a talented player, but in decline when he came to us, and rarely a good thing to say about us (although that will be tainted by the mess of a club we were around that time)

David White - I think something went to his head after some good performances in only a half decent team.

Niall Quinn - Something about him more of late has irked me. He doesn't (in my eyes) hold us in the same high regard we hold him.

Again - the thread was for non-obvious players who you just didn't take to (even if they were greats for us).

*dons his tin hat*
