Nord VPN

Just finishing a two year deal with NORD VPN, which cost me £80 when I took it out, and even though I've had no problems with the vpn itself, I've decided NOT to renew it .... the reason? Upon renewal they now want £133 for only one year ..... well that sure ain't happening, so I'm off to another VPN, when I find one !

I have used these for years and have never had an issue with them at all mate.

I've been quite happy with them to be fair, it's just the size of that price increase that I don't like .... and for a year less than the two deal that I've just had ..... but i agree that the VPN itself is excellent.

Mind you our kid has done the same thing with PureVPN after they slammed him with a big price increase last week .... he's now shifted over to ProtonVPN.

Decided to stick with NORD after all .....

I just cancelled the 'auto-renew' on the plan I've already got, but that plan will still run until its expiry date in mid January ...... and i also ordered a new two year plan to carry from mid January until mid 2028 at a similar cost to the one that I've been paying for the last couple of years .... so I'm happy now !

It's very rare that auto-renews in anything are a good idea, it's amazing how deals appear when you in effect set it to cancel. That said I'm on the 3rd year of AA car insurance and they've always been competitive.

This won't help if you're permanently based overseas, but if you are UK-based you could just install the Remote Utilities host on your home system then connect to that. There may or may not be a slight lag with mouse movements and clicks, depending upon the weakest link broadband-wise, but you'll be a legitimate UK browser again.

Remote Utilities is still free - just install the client on your phone/laptop and you're away.
