North Stand Construction Discussion

There's nothing to report. I don't think people in general will be interested that the central span is 2 degrees off the horizontal when the build hasn't been c
I almost hope they would report on it. Would show just how desperate they are to get any tiny scrap of negative news on us.

Not that they care about City, of course:-)

Fins. We have fins. And I think they look good so far.
Big improvement on the couple of previous attempts. And credit to the planners for pushing the contractors on it.

A bit of a pity they didn't colour match the frame edges, but a much better metallic finish.

The horizontals were always the anomaly here.

If anyone can be bothered, can somebody point out on a picture exactly where the anomaly/kink/wonk n the roof is/starts, and I'll try and get some pictures of it inside the ground.
Totally unscientific, but I think 6 is about 300mm too high, 7 is about 500mm too high and 8 is about 100mm too high.
As a lot of people have mentioned, it's not finished and there's lots of additional work to be done with extra structures to be loaded, especially on beams 6 and 7 as this is the side where the sky walk comes from. It'll be fine in a few weeks. I have total faith in Sisk.

If you look closely, 7 seems to veer off to the left sightly. Note the visible slight side angle of the hand rails. Whilst 8 and 9 are straight, and so are the hand rails. 7's hand rails should be forward facing like 9's hand rails, as they are both either side of 8, but they aren't. 7 is definitely lifting the roof up between 6 and 8. That's my take on it. :-/

If we could only get Luke Shaw to walk down to the end of roof walkway 7, It would be fixed

I think that's because the drone view wasn't 100% centralised.
This is the best one I could find by @ssskies with some random line and curves overlaid:

I'm going to place a bet on Brighton at home on the 7th of January.

Other possible ones are Chelsea home on the 3rd, or Wolves on the 24th January. There's West Ham at home 20th Dec, but I think that might be premature myself.
I’m going for a limited/trial opening v Chelsea… prior to a grand opening v Wolves on 24th Jan.

All this fuss about the stand extension, the roof, the hotel and the museum/ office block and fanzone, and two years from now, everyone will only care about the way footballers play on the grassy bit in the middle. ;-)
It was because of the way footballers were playing on the grassy bit that a lot of us found the construction site more rivetting.
