North Stand Construction Discussion

Just a thought - if they're implementing a 7k tier with rail seating, basically another singing section, what then happens to the current south stand? Do we think we will find 7k more people from other areas of the ground that want to create an atmosphere and move to this end or do people from the south stand then move to the north stand leaving the south stand flatter than currently?
For this to work a number of the vociferous fans in the existing singing areas need to move. This si the most imprtant aspect of it. It doesn't matter if plenty don't - that could even work well as they take the lead from the new end and join in - but it matters that initially a good number do. The club need to incentivise this in my opinion.

10 days all in at the Mandarin Emirates Palace......in August !!

You could leave the L1 family stand where it is, no L2 available for family stand. The youngsters love to join in the chanting, not too sure parents will like them singing the songs when at home though

It is not feasible or fair to put youngsters in L2 or L3 south stand, anywhere near the away fans

The away fans won’t be moved anywhere from where they presently are due to logistics

I would make North and South stand cheap as possible. It will make for a great atmosphere if L2 is rail seated other than the lower tier

Looking forward to new stand not sure about the hotel though, we already have a large and increasing number of tourists at games with their freshly bought merch the hotel will only increase this and more local fans will be pushed out
We’ll have more tourists and more local fans attending once the new stand is complete - 7,700 is a big boost to the capacity.

Its the only way it will work. If the club are serious about creating a proper home end then a number of things need to happen.

The main singing areas in 109, 115/116 etc and SSL3 need to be encouraged to move to the new 2/3k area within the new stand. Doesn't mean cheap season tickets like the 299 previously as everyone just jumped on that, it needs to be targeted to get the right mix of people in there. The family stand needs moving. Nothing stopping family stand members locating into the new stand, but the family stand needs moving away from behind the goal. Zero coporate tickets in the 'home end' area and one that might not be achievable, but a % of tickets at no more than 15 quid for 16-21 year olds and 30 quid for 21 and overs. Try and entice back some of those lost fans and next generation who are priced out. Even offer a number of Kippax season cards to those brackets as well. Key is getting it filled with people who want to be in that area and know why they are there.

Has anyone got or access to the full size, clear, coloured CGI's? If so, can you post them.

Thanks.

  • We will continue our discussions with Metrolink to review frequency of trams and improved service provision.
As part of our proposals the following measures are being explored to make long-term sustainable improvements to transport:
  • Enhanced and expanded Metrolink queue facilities, safely separating queues from circulating crowds.

So point one means they are bashing their heads agaimst a brick wall with the twats running Metrolink. Point two is they don't expect any changes from Metrolink so they will improve the queuing arrangements.

Bloody brilliant!
Had a discussion with somebody claiming to be a font of all wisdom on the Metrolink and he recons the town to Ashton link is not classed as a main rout hence the lesser services unlike the Altrincham to town link. Mind you he was a scum fan so probably just bull shite !
