I always understood that it was Arsenals chairman who pioneered the concept of having the capacity of all seated stadium below the actual demand for tickets for the big games. This meant clubs could fiddle the market leading to an explosion in the numbers of season tickets. The example he gave was that if you want to guarantee a ticket for the north London derby you would need a season ticket and by virtue are also paying for a mid week game against Wimbledon. It was effective though clearly flawed in the long term. Thanks to Liverpool ?
At a guess I’d say that’s the view from Daisy Nook.Where is that taken from?
If a club could guarantee to sell all tickets on a match-by-match basis then they’d bin off season tickets completely. Digital ticketing, online booking and payment facilities and a loyalty point based selling window will only speed up the process where this becomes a reality.I always understood that it was Arsenals chairman who pioneered the concept of having the capacity of all seated stadium below the actual demand for tickets for the big games. I suspect it is further away than Daisy Nook. That looks like Fiddlers Ferry power station in the distance. At a guess I’d say that’s the view from Daisy Nook.
Does anyone know when the demolition and groundworks are due to finish around the old club shop? I walked through there last night and Id be surprised if its complete before the first game. If they haven't cleared it by then it will be chaos after the game with fans heading that way.
It’s been about two weeks and they’re about halfway done (demolishment wise) so am thinking the plan is to completely block off that bit of land anyway. They looked like they have tarmacced a path over the land behind where Summerbee’s was so could be the pedestrian route for a while. If they’re putting a temporary fan zone on the car park behind the East Stand then maybe they’ll be hoping a lot of pedestrians arrive & leave directly onto Alan Turing Way in that direction too.Does anyone know when the demolition and groundworks are due to finish around the old club shop? It’s gonna be fenced off for the next 2 years regardless of the demolition so you had best prepare for chaos if you plan to head that wayDoes anyone know when the demolition and groundworks are due to finish around the old club shop? Makes sense, as long as the whole thing is being constructed the area will become a very restricted space that will change regularly on match days ! Apparently some piling work.has already commenced in North Stand Level 1 as City knew planning permission was a formality! It’s been about two weeks and they’re about halfway done (demolishment wise) so am thinking the plan is to completely block off that bit of land anyway.
