North Stand Construction Discussion

It amazes me how they manage to swing that piece of terrace to face the right way before it’s dropped into place. I know there’s a guide rope but the crane operator had it orientating high up well before it was grounded. Wonder if there’s a mechanism on the block that can turn it?

I appreciate this may come across as a very stupid question, however, is the frame of the new stand in its permanent position?

Or is it to be moved Into place closer to the existing Stand?

You look at the position of that new third tier now and it looks absolutely miles away from the pitch?

All done by the skill of the crane driver and the banks man

It is in its final position, that's the distance as it will be.

It was built on rollers but they slid it into place a few weeks ago.

It’s all joined up and is connected to the top of the current 2nd tier.

Great video again Colin

I left you a comment on the video, there's a white out/black out problem on your drone camera on this one, first time I've seen it. When you zoom in there's a white out flash and when you zoom out there's a black out 'flash' - dunno whether you have a problem or not, it is noticeable though.

10 months to go. That's not that long but they have done a huge amount of work in a short period of time. I am very impressed with the process. Also impressed with the drones. They are revolutionising how we see the world. I have seen drones used to fly through volcanic eruption plumes. If CP Overview would like to try his hand at that, we will have to go to Iceland or possibly Stromboli. Flying a drone into a lava lake sounds very exciting to me, but hazardous. The lava bombs can take out the drones.

I did notice it , I had put a dark filter on for the sunlight the other day and decided today to put one on with a slight tint instead of going back to clear. For whatever reason it made the screen flash white/black when it switched lenses. Have since tried the clear one on it and the problem goes away.
Lesson learned, don’t play around with filters when you don’t actually know what they do!

If you view the stand from the sides via the drone footage at 3mins 25 seconds it sits perfectly with the current structure.
