North Stand Construction Discussion

There are loads drinking just over the canal on Trafford Road to the left, whether it is hotel bars or coffee shops etc they all seem to be having a beer. I walk that way when we play them. They may be 600/800m away but they are closer than the tram stops or around Exchange Quay distance.

There are also several hotels right on their doorstep making good money pre and post matchday long before the hotel football opened, even though it looks fairly baron around the ground.

The Guy making the claims has no experience being a matchday fan with his £2 burger, and doesn't know what there is as the club don't own any of it. People leave early as they have long distances to drive, one of the tram stops is normally empty going to Salford/Eccles.
Yes that £2 burger statement made me laugh. Is he like the rest of their fans and still stuck in the 80s ;)

The first section where the triangle supports for the new roof will attach is in place.

From looking at the plans and the placement of those eyelets, they’re nothing to do with the cable-net. They are most likely the connection point for the new roof beams. If you look at the curve of the new roof, it perfectly matches up with the eyelet locations.

Didn't know about the bars over the canal. Yes, there are pubs and hotels around OT, but most United fans don't drink in the hotels unless they are staying there. Most United fans head to town or to Mediacity after the match. There's also LCCC next to the Metrolink stop that has bars and a hotel.

I'm sure Jim will take a keen interest in our setup when the North stand, fan zone, museum, hotel, retail, etc are up and running. There isn't anything like it yet in the PL.
LCCC has been cashing in on utd fand for decades, right near the busiest tram stop.

The hotels have restaurants and often season tickets owned by them, I have been in for a meal pre and post match with a supplier 24 years ago, and other bars are open to anyone just like the one near Reading FC.

There are even places like the Red Cinema, which they don't own right on their doorstep all cashing in.

It’s not exactly what it says, but okay…. I was clarifying for those that thought the cable-net would be secured to the eyelets that they are there for the roof beams.

I imagine the cables will stay at pretty much the same angle as they are now.

You’re getting wrapped up. At no point did I mention anything to do with the cable net.

My post is about the structure being in place for the new roof supports to join up to.

These points will attach to the triangular supports which will hold up the new roof.

I agree. We’re talking about two separate things. I was using your post (thank you for the image with the highlighting) to show that the angle of the roof can be seen to curve away from the top of the tower at pretty much the same line that the eyelets are being installed.

I agree that the circled mounts are for the new ‘pointed’ tower that will be the support structure for the new roof.

Totally different things being addressed, hence why I am confused at to what you thought I’d said exactly the same as you.

Well he isn’t recruiting Real Madrid or Barca current and former staff is he?

He just appears to be focussing on picking fights with current United employees for working from home. No doubt his experience in the oil industry together with the input from the ‘jiffy bag’ brigade from the Ineos Cycling team will bear fruit?

but he didn't mention city in the clip ffs

That was me I think but yeah, you can see they conform to the curve of the new roof. Mind you I've just been going through the planning application to try and work out where the cables to hold the cable net go to. It took me at least half a dozen drawings before realising I was looking at the South Stand application from 2014 :(
