North Stand Construction Discussion

I'm looking at next Friday for the Etihad tour if the last piece of roof has been dismantled on the pitch, and pitch has been cleared, as the weather looks good. If not, the following week.

There are another 3 stands and a 2nd tier. ;-)

On a serious point.

We're trying to create a proper home end, or at least the fans are, not another morgue inside the Etihad.

This is our last chance to make a proper ATMOSPHERIC HOME END.
Drums ruin atmosphere

But no fucking drums! Seriously, have you ever watched a Celtic or Rangers home game on Sky on sunday lunchtime. The drumming is incessant; they bloody love their drums up there. Even the main Rangers poster on here doesn't like them. It wouldn't be so bad if there was a discernible rhythm. But there isn't, it's just noise. I swear, if I was unfortunate enough to be sat next to some oik with a drum, I'd end up doing time. I get the "atmosphere" argument; honestly, I do. But those drums aren't atmosphere, they're just senseless noise.
To be fair I don’t think they’re any worse than those twats at Arsenal !!

Just a few shots from walking round yesterday

All done, still so much material to go on the roof, anyone know the actual weight of the roof or the load baring weight?

Worth noting the brick is being laid by hand, the conventional way. Rather than on precast panels per the approval.

Unless they are mixing and matching, it might mean that those angled piers are gone or replaced with flat ones. Also then does rely on workmanhip more for how the finish will look.

Is their going to be a big LED screen as you walk up Mercer way to look at on the front of the stand, if not why? It woukd look outstanding, just look at Atalanta falcons stadium an various others around the world incorporating these big screens it just looks class, I cabtbunderstand why the whole for the co op arena outside wasn’t LED, they could do advertising and stuff to bring in cash on them.

There are two screens going in, one on the end of the hotel block and one on the end of the office/museum block, either side of the new City Square.

'Empty Seats This Way' on one, with an arrow on the other.
