It all depends on costs and prices charged.Hotel occupancy in Manchester is 68.5% (from google) and as Hotel Football and Renaissance Hotel show they aren't all profitable. It seems a challenging number to reach based on 150 shows and 25 games a year.
Hotel room prices continue to rise in Manchester. Ten years ago I could get a hotel on match day for £50-£60 a night. It would be £35 in Ibis Budget at New Islington. Now it is more likely to be over £100 .
OK part of that increase is down to the hotels becoming more savvy on matchday pricing, but prices are definately rising.
