Thanks for going this morning, mate.

The sheeting protecting the pitch won't take long to come off. Once they are up I'll go on the tour. Hopefully by the end of next week?

Will do my best, it’s more keeping the drone in sight than signal capability.
Since Mr drone got done for it I have been a bit more cautious

Slightly off topic and nerdy but on iOS 26 you can have a clock in perspective to what’s going on in the wallpaper .
So I have set it with a north stand construction pic and it makes it look like the clock is in suspension in between the towers

They can obviously start removal of the covering but they will need to remove the 3 temporary platforms and the cherry pickers I would assume ???

You could ask the crane driver if you can go up there and then land the drone on the pitch. ;P

I thought they would be the last jobs for the pitch cranes but still there after they left

I think that is why there is still a gap in the new roof, to lift the cherry pickers and platforms out now the pitch cranes have gone. This has been great drone footage, credit to CP and SS and others who have provided ground-level photos. And particularly the construction workers, amazing feats of design, engineering, skills, and a severe lack of vertigo.

No problem jrb, I'd love to do a tour of the etihad, might just be a couple of weeks off though yet for me. It's impressive outside, be interesting to see the inside. And yes the trophy cabinet will be bigger than Everton's but nice to see all the same

I think that is why there is still a gap in the new roof, to lift the cherry pickers and platforms out now the pitch cranes have gone. Yeah saw the gap but wondered how they get off the platform and under the gap maybe they have some articulation on the wheels
