North Stand Construction Discussion

I miss that part of match day, I loved the old set up, So did the many others I’ve taken to games as first timers, they where always impressed & always bought food & drink, merch/programmes etc. Now it’s all a bit fragmented & there isn’t that same buzz about the place on approach, so we normally arrive late after a few in town or Mary d’s. Really looking forward to it all being ready, we’re definitely relocating to NS1 (as it’s now called) and will probably go back to arriving early & having some food and a few scoops outside
It will be the same concept but a 100 times better ! :)

Can I just say.

The view points around and above the Etihad, and the drone shots and videos from both of you have got steadily better and better. Thank you.
Agree, I think the only I'm waiting for is for the drones to start shipping with more wide angle lenses, the field of view always feels a bit narrow to me when its zoomed in

Thanks jrb, we have both invested heavily into the drones to get the best quality we can. Also flying now for a couple of years helps!! Cheers

Hi krisblue, CP is using the Dji Mavic 3 Pro, I have that drone currently for sale as upgraded to the latest dji mavic 4 Pro. It just shows the quality they can produce, but agree when zooming the FOV does go narrow.

The junctions of the top parapet of the terraces to the glazing at each height change really are fucking terrible.

I have been noticing it for a good while, and I had been wondering why it hadn't bugged or even caught my eye when the approval came out.

Looking back at it, it is because they changed it from the approval, which had glazes parapets, and they have now gone solid and clad in the same as the horizontal panels. A bit of a shame.

It really is appreciated. Both yourself and @cpoverview have provided excellent coverage. The club on the other hand have provided next to fuck all (apart from paying for the stand to be built!).

Keep up the good work guys.

Any chance of marking up a photo to show what you mean?

Wait till it is finished. There is a huge gap between the string of the stand and the concrete parapets, so there is bound to be something going in before it's finished

Manchester City is currently in the process of redeveloping its North Stand. As part of the project, the club has added a technological element to its stadium tour. Fans will pop on a pair of virtual reality goggles to visit “a variety of different City- themed worlds before flying around a futuristic Etihad Stadium and lifting a trophy”. What those City-themed worlds will look like is not yet known.

You are right, but I was talking about the hotel and offices where the screen gables are. At some point I'll add images, as phil above suggests.

Whatever it is it doesn't involve windows

Yes, there’ll be insulation to sit on the liner sheet and the Kalzip profile sheet will sit on the black clips you can see.
Out of interest does anyone know why the translucent sheeting on the stand front edge is taking so long ??

Don’t know, not even seen any of it on site in the videos. There’s a lad working for me who was working on the north stand for the roofing contractor, I’ll ask him if he knows.
