North Stand Construction Discussion

Sure the club will focus on getting everything up to speed for the 2028 Euros but hopefully something comes out at some point on what might happen next whilst us fox's are still in the land of the living
I suppose a major project every 10 years is pretty good going.

Hasn't pretty much every concert that's been hosted there, had the stage at the southern end of the stadium? Even with, as you said, the service tunnel in the NW corner of the stadium. Will they go with a 180° degree about turn in the future? I'm not saying they wont; I'm just curious as to why they'd change the arrangement. I don't remember reading many negative comments re the stadium's hosting of concerts down the years; it seems to have worked pretty well.

The stage is always at the North stand end.
 
Dont see any advanatges of moving stage to south stand only disadvantages, as discussed above
More things to consider
Having to move the heavy equipment over the length of the pitch doesn't make any sense as it could mean more damage to the pitch
The performers are likely to stay in Medlock Hotel and therefore will have a direct route to the stage

Suggesting moving the tunnel, probably tongue in cheek, just a none starter as its more than a tunnel the area is the service area which the grounds staff use etc

No. Every single one has been at the north stand :)

City aren't going to waste the new North stand, including the 8000 capacity 2nd tier, the 700 GA+ seats, the hotel rooms with balconies, the restaurant and 3rd floating tier, as well as the larger capacity bars bars inside the new North stand because the stage is at the North end of the Etihad.

The last time Oasis played at the Etihad the stage was at the south stand.

That said it made sense previously to have the stage at the north end for ease of access to the tunnel and then the expanded south stand. I can see lots more reasons for switching them when the north stand and hotel is finished though.

I’m sure I was stood in the East Stand for Oasis looking towards the South Stand. I was with my Mrs who was pregnant so had to stay out of the mayhem of the mosh pit. The barrier at the front broke during the gig.
