North Stand Construction Discussion

Aside from the faded issue there are also different types of seats that make the color look different, padded seats in the corporate area and the safe standing seats. There is also a contributing factor such as different suppliers and batches so no way are they all going to look identical. Would also ask what is the Pantone of the blue

Most of the time they arent see anyhow as they have bums on them

Years ago, I went to Amsterdam and did a stadium tour of the fairly new arena (now the Johan Cruyff Arena), there was a multi-coloured pattern on the seats and the tour guide said this was something that would help the players with performance/focus. When I asked him how the players were meant to see the seats when the stadium was full of fans, he quickly changed the subject.

He was either taking extreme liberties in his knowledge of the stadium, or somewhere in the design stage they completely overlooked that fans might well attend games.

I’m wondering why the roof supports have different colour flooring. Has one been concreted but the other hasn’t as yet?

A few days ago there was a drone video of one of the roof supports being concreted. As soon as the weather allows I am sure the other will be done before longs.

The “roof supports “ you mention must be the concrete roofs “ supporting “ the quad pods . Similar to the hotel roof they will receive a waterproof black membrane on top of a red liquid primer (to seal the concrete ) then rigid blocks of insulation then the gravel layer

Now the scaffold is down you can actually see the brickwork ( brick choice excepted)is decent quality just awaiting a good clean

You can see the detail of the projecting courses and the detail to the structural openings with bricks defying gravity , I’ll be sure not to dawdle in the doorways ! Lol
Good clean, with a lot of white vinegar

Both concreted ages ago as @Penders1957 says they will be sealed, have started on one hence the difference in appearance guess once done they will be stoned as per the hotel and commercial buildings

I think I heard somewhere that multicoloured seats disguise empty seats and make a half empty ground look full.

Don’t get this obsession with club colours, the fact that my Nissan is sky blue is entirely co-incidental ;-)
A few years ago, we were swapping our car for a newer one. The salesman was waxing lyrical about a sports version that he thought we would love, and it was a great price too. It was round the back of the garage and the wife got there before me. As she turned the corner, she said “No chance, he won’t have this.” I’ll bet you can’t guess what colour it was…and no…we didn’t have it!!

Still not convinced it is, but If they built the screen in-front of the scaffold, it would be in the same position as the other corner.
Right over my head too, our seats second row from the back, below it.
I took a good luck, at the scaffolding, it does protrude quick a distance over the first two rows of seats.
Why would they extend the flooring to the left as you look at the screen, just for screen?!

The preparation for the screen in SE corner, lots of scaffolding and a number of seat rows removed contrast that with the scaffolding in the SW corner Think this proves that whatever is being built is not an additional screen

The way I see it: It is the fourth screen, they're just having to do it slightly differently ... the third one in SE corner was put up in off-season, so was quicker and easier to just remove a no. of seats and do it that way. Now for SW corner, they're doing it without removing the seats, thus a little different.

There is absolutely no logic in not doing them at the same time engaging the same scaffold company taking advantage of the off season and then the logistics of delivering and installing the screens concurrently Everything says its not so I very much doubt its a fourth screen I hope I'm wrong

Again, just my thinking: Maybe at the time they decided for putting up only one screen, and when that was installed the decision was made to put the fourth one up as well as that last corner empty or not like others didn't feel right. Maybe some exec made that call, and later Khaldoon saw that in stadium and called for fourth to be put up as well ... who knows, I'm just clinging on to it being the fourth screen.

It's not a 4th screen its a control room being built to move the existing one and add a large hospitality box in its place.
