North Stand Construction Discussion

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it, but why could they blend the corners when looking from the outside so well when they did the south stand expansion? The north stand corners from the outside look terrible. Unless they are going to blend them in with the east and west stand?

As we can see from the SS Skies video, the fins on the hotel look good from an angle, but straight on, they disappear. Can they be retrofitted to give off a 3D effect?

Looking at what you go do with lighting, sorry about the colour -Radison Blu

Still not that keen on them, to be honest. But I doubt they'll change them just to keep this miseryguts happy.

The south stand corners are meant to be temporary, till such a time the east and west roofs might be raised to meet rhe south and now north. From the outside/above they do a bit of a job hiding the junction. From the inside though most would agree they are a mess. The north tried not to attempt to look like it is bridging the gap, but just did what it needed to do. Leaves a much more obvious step, from the outside. Arguably cleaner, but more noticeable. Looks much much neater from the inside though, imo.

All of those will have points that when viewed from, some aspects of the effect disappears. It is almost inevitable.

The view from the Viadux tower, city centre, of the Etihad and North stand.

For those of you who don’t know where the Viadux tower is in the city centre, picture below.

Will Viadux 2 block their view JRB? I wonder how many bought for the view only to then hear about a much bigger brother!

Yes, Viadux 2 or as it is now called now Nobu, will totally block out the view of the Etihad and the new North stand from Viadux 1, as seen in the picture.

Looking East from Viadux 1 in the future will be looking straight at Nobu.

So what anyone needs to do is to buy an apartment on the East Facing side of Nobu to see the Etihad and the North stand. Nothing as tall or as close will ever be built next to the East side of Nubo.

Just answering the question.(Ric & Jim)
