North Stand Construction Discussion

If you think our seats are faded on NSL1 & the current NSL2 compared to the new NSL2 seats, you should see the faded washed out pink sests, which should be bold red seats at the Stadium of Light. Sunderland playing Everton tonight.

yep they are really bad, and Wembley is no better either - red pigment does not stand up to sunlight at all!

Think it’s just a temporary strap securing the cable net , but I could be mistaken ?
Thought that at first, think it had an orange strap attached but looks more permanent now, probably to give the cable net more stability. Might be worth one of @cpoverview or @ssskies fly over to look a the South stand to check if their attached to the roof

If it was, there should in theory be another one in its mirrored corresponding position/node on the other side.

“Should they qualify”? Are hosts not automatically qualified now?
Because the tournament is spread over 4 countries they are making everyone go through qualification.

England will have to be totally useless not to qualify though.

I suppose that’s fair enough. Tbh I didn’t know it was over all the home nations and Ireland.

Wouldn't/shouldn't change seat numbers, and maybe too soon to claim that. Imho.

The article could also have got the number wrong, given the various versions.
I’m not claiming anything mate, I’m just trying to work out why the number appear to have been reduced to 61,747. As you suggest they may be wrong?

I am guessing just as much as you are mate.

Can't see them losing 200+ seats from such a prime location in the new stand.

From doing Anfield and the Hill Dickinson Stadium , capacity changes during the build are quite common, Laing o Rourke explained it as things like camera positions etc often took up more or less space than expected and sometimes seat arrangements that worked on paper just didn’t work in a practical sense. Everton’s capacity fluctuated up and down several times during the build as did Anfield.

I get that, although in this case I would think it might well be more for the purposes of tournament games as bluemooncas suggests, and the article quoting that, than a loss in construction.

For one, nobody yet knows that and I doubt the club would let it slip in such a way, credit to Levets for picking it up in the first place.
