North Stand Construction Discussion

I thought that 23yrs ago and it still feels like a building site.
They should make a big effort around the whole stadium when the north stand is finished.
It would make a huge difference.

This ^. The area around the stadium is really tatty. The lighting is random and poor, the tarmac is tired and scruffy, the water collects everywhere, there’s a few random trees but nothing that makes the area look well kept. The whole area around the stadium looks run down.

Lighting is poor? Looks fine to me, quite striking in fact. Ignore the Cerise/Pink, that’s the grass lights.IMG_2030.jpeg

City Hall are the seats right behind the goal in the lower tier where people are being moved from.

Yeah the big question is whether that is additional or instead of the GA+ on the tier above, where they claimed nobody needs to move.

Without revisiting old interpretations, I take some hope from the fact they have announced the pricing for the city hall, and if that was additional, you would have thought they would announce the other pre-existing GA+ as well, about now. Which gives me hope that they have simply 'swapped' the two as previously speculated.

Noted of course that new announcements can come any day.

And noted still unclear as to how that affects the used capacity of the city hall.

(Edit, i post that here rather than the other thread as to me it is more a point about the spatial functioning of the stand, rather than purely ticket allocation, but somewhat relevant to both).

Is it me or does the cladding / outside and also the roof look different on both news stands could just be weathering but I am fairly certain it isn’t. I get they are not exact replicas and I get why but should they not look like they have used the same material

If you think the area is run down you should have seen it 25 years ago

That’s not the point really. 25 years ago it was a run down shit hole. Now it’s had billions invested into it and you’d think they would keep it looking decent. Maybe once the new north stand is finished they will get it looking good.

Was having a good stare over at this at halftime the thing will look very impressive when they merge it with level 2. Shame the club messed it up, we could have had that all safe standing making it a new “home end” shame the club are only arsed about the money.

There seems to be loads of trees, plants etc on the planning drawings to shall we say dolly the place up. I would imagine that a complete new resin based or worst case concrete walkways etc will also be done to make it all look smarter around the stadium and make it more appealing with guests coming to stay at the hotel etc

You do know that it has to be actually profitable though don’t you?
