North Stand expansion - seating, ticketing etc

Correction. Their parents pay an extra £75. 2 young fans, £150. Why are young fans being charged £75? What for? The privilege to get a Flexi-Gold season ticket so they can watch City?

There is absolutely no need to charge (parents) children a £75 upfront cost to buy a Flexi-Gold season ticket. I really don’t understand how people are easy with that concept, and make excuses for it.
Jesus, you don't know what you are on about.

£75 yes (paid over 10 months if you choose) for the chance to buy tickets at vastly reduced prices!

You do realise the junior FG tickets are very low prices I presume?

I reckon far more S/T holders pay over 10 instalments interest free so the money isn't banked at the start of the season.

For years S/T holders not turning up for the less attractive fixtures has been an issue. The Club are trying something else and they only released a small number FG's anyway and they sold out.

S/T will be available again at some point and people have to be patient

FG is brilliant for those who use it as it is intended (me) but I bet there are people who have bought one and only go to a few if any games and won't be able to renew it next year.

The choice of purchasing the same seat every game is highly attractive, far better than pissing about looking for seats on the planner and sitting god knows where.

S/T aren't cheap BTW, even missing a couple of games bumps up your actual individual match day price a fair bit.
I pay my season ticket money up front. It’s done.

You are right. The vast majority of City fans pay for their season ticket over 10 months interest free. The club should be applauded for bringing that in. That certainly helps to spread the cost of a season ticket.

Thete’s 1 difference between a no show season ticket holder, and a match day ticket that hasn’t sold. At least the no show season ticket holder has paid for their seat in advance. Both seats still remain empty, but at least 1 seat has been paid for in advance.

There’s no guarantee normal season tickets will be available again. We’ve discussed that in-depth. Lapsed season tickets are now being made match day ticket sales. And the confirmed rumour is, new season tickets will only be Flexi-Gold season tickets.

It’s still an additional £75, paid over 10 months. Why is there a £75 charge? Just let parents buy children’s tickets without charging them £75 over 10 months or upfront. It’s not hard is it. Children’s match ticket goes on sale, parent buys children’s ticket. Done! Why does buying a children’s match ticket have to be made anymore complicated with a £75 charge, regardless if it’s paid upfront or over 10 months. I’m sure you’ll try and justify that as well by telling me you do know what you are on about.

£55 after not paying for the junior match day membership. Then there’s the savings on being able to access more affordable tickets and watch the big matches too.

Whether we like junior flexi-golds or not, can we agree that this isn’t a terrible thing. I’m not interested in the politics, just the benefits vs costs.

I give up on this point, sorry.

I am saving money and know my lad is sat with me for every game I buy.

The charge is effectively a reservation fee.

It's a bloody good idea for under 18's

Tim.

I’ve always said Flexi-Gold has it’s benefits. I’m honestly trying hard to see them. But my point is. And it won’t change. Apologies for going over it again and again. There is no need to charge an extra £75 for season ticket bells and whistles. Just charge one affordable price for a childs season ticket at the start of the season which can be paid upfront or spread over 10 months. That’s it. Nothing else. I’ll leave it at that otherwise I really will be going around in circles. I’m not having a go at you mate.

Good point about the membership fee, I was forgetting that.

£55, bargain.

Wish I'd bought 2 and not even used the 2nd one :-)

I’ve explained it to Tim, above.

It’s not hard to understand my thinking and point of view.

If you attend all 19 premier league games your FG ticket prices = the cost of a seasoncard (whether you’re a child or adult - a child seasoncard is cheaper than adult obviously)

The difference is you’ve paid £75/£150 for that membership.

You are comparing Flexigold to a match day membership, not Seasoncard.

You’d have saved more money if he had a seasoncard.

You’ve said it yourself, he’s attended every game but 1 so far this season.

1/19th of a child’s seasoncard is less than £75.

The club are ripping you off and you can’t see it. I have a seasoncard and would never switch to flexigold!
