Norwich (H) | Post-Match Thread

I’ve just seen this statistic in the Evening News:

This was the 25th time they had scored five or more under Pep Guardiola, with 23 of those coming in the Premier League. And since Guardiola joined, City are responsible for 47 per cent of the total five-goal hauls of all sides in the division.

That’s amazing, but not altogether surprising.

Normally at the first game of the season the pitch looks like a perfectly manicured Versailles lawn, it didn’t look that great yesterday - I wonder if they’re still having problems with it

Tis bollox. Or at least some of it is: I've found 9 games where we scored five or more that weren't in the PL, not 2.
Steaua (5), West Ham (5 - FAC), Monaco (5), Huddersfield (5 - FAC) in 2016-17
Rotherham (7), Burton (9), Schalke (7) and Watford (6) all in 2018-19
Atalanta (5) in 2019-20

was a typo in the MEN i think, Pep notched up a 34TH match of scoring 5+, 23 in the PL. (5 CL, 5 FA cup, once LC). By my reckoning.
