Perhaps it's a bit of pyschology by Pep. We certainly want Laporte to stay. It sends a message to Levy that we will not be taken for idiots. We may just keep Bernie, Jesus, and Laporte and go again. The cloud of Covid is lifting and these players may be re-motivated.

At least Cancelo can run and has shown he can be a very good player

Would also prefer Zinchenko though
