Not a good day for City or for the game

Regardless of what ones personal feelings may be with the sacking of Hughes and the teams performance or the lack of what I can only call the meeting of the expatiations of the new moneymen at City. It is a fact that there have been more draws than wins but the fact is City has only lost two games this season in the league. It is also a fact that City have not been capable of holding on to a lead and today’s game was another reminder of the problems in the heart of the city defence. We got lucky today not to come away with yet another draw.

But on the other hand we sit in sixth place with a game in hand. I suppose when one considers the amount paid out on players. That seem to play, as individuals and I shall say of one that Adebayor the furthest he has run all season so far has been his celebration when he scored in the Arsenal game.

I am undecided as yet if Hughes going is the best thing at this moment. I was a little shocked by it and even more shocked in the manner it came about. The man was sacked in public as live on T.V as it could have possibly have been. I do believe that it was a first.
I also believe that it was unfair and a despicable thing for any club to do and for a club like city to be the first to do so as a supporter of the club I totally object to such behaviour.

But there is an underline affect in all this. When one hears that six players have voiced their opinions to the club with regards to Hughes sacking. One has to wonder why only six. Is that a hint as to the underline problems at city?

But I would ask you to consider the sate of the Premier league at the moment.
Foreign investors owning the best clubs in the land it also seems that the influx of foreign managers is to continue. Who for the most part have not got a clue regarding the English game? It stretches from the league to the International team.
So is there an underling problem as to the way managers are trained within the English system.
I have decied i am sad to see him go But i am more pissed off with the manner of how it was done.

A) Why the fuckkkkkkkkkk do people say "but we've only lost twice this season"? Why why why why do they use that statement all the time???????????????
B) Hughes is gone.
Well I did not just say that I did also say we could not hold onto a lead
Yes he is gone it was the manner of how it was done I find distasteful
How many times had we lost this time last season? I think some people expect too much to soon
Maybe even Me

What are you talking about? There isn't a good way to sack someone, but my understanding is that Hughes was told first, then after the game we were told next (club website). I got home form match and read the statement on the website 10-15 mins before i heard SKY and GMR offically report it.

I would like to point out that if we played and won our game in hand right now, we would still be in 6th place and not have any game in hand.

and let us not forget that, if it wasn't for the heroics of Shay Given saving two recent penalties, we would have been even further adrift of the leaders.

What on earth are you talking about?????

Do you suggest we should have done it in secret and just left people to wonder what was happening when he didn't turn up to the next game? We sacked him (fair enough) and issued a statement saying we'd sacked him (also fair enough). I really don't know what your problem is. Apart from anything else, it's EXACTLY how every club always handles it - how can you think it's "a first"????

EDIT: Just saw Mac Blue's post above! Seems he and I agree!

Well I was not lucky enough to be at the game. I was keeping up with results on the T.V when at half time the news came in regarding a statement to be made later that evening by Manchester City Football club. It also stated that Hughes replacement was at the game. The statement by Hughes today seems to clarify that. It would be logical that if Hughes knew he was about to be sacked before the game that the assistant Manager would have taken over
But that’s just my opinion. So I suppose all we can do is look forward.
Wishing you and yours a happy and peaceful Christmas

Who cares about the manner it was handled, fucking hell, the guy failed and is getting a multi-million pound handout.
