At least this guy came in and realised what our weakness is - its not defenders it is central midfielders.

We have good defenders and good attackers - to move to the next level consistantly out playing teams we now need a strong midfield that can actually win the ball, pass it around and create opportunities.

Dejong - good player but offers one thing only - tackling
Barry - plays djong roll for England and does ok but needs more along side him
Viera - you can at least see he has the midfield intelligence required
Ireland - can play brilliant balls but just doesn't impose himself on the game / opposition.

There is no real up and down players who will do a bit of defending and support the forwards as well.

look at he top teams - Essien, Ballack, Lampard
Fletcher, Anderson, scholes
diaby, song and fabegras
Gerard, lucas mascherano -

The only team who arn't very mobile are Liverpool - if gerard isn't on it they are similat to us. Thats why they are inconsistent they can't dominate teams.

We match them all pretty much at the back and up front

Quite fairly spot on.

I think what BlueMoaners really require, desire and, overall, would deserve would be:
1) a strict block of the current team rooster of hundred millions pounds waste, including a sell out of Viera and A. Johnson;
2) a compulsive waltz of the best european managers for the next 3 years, each strictly on 6 months basis only, headaching themselves to drive some sense into City football;
3) a full moaning enjoyment of incompetent unqualified football gurus:
4) a Sheikh progressive annoying leading to a sell out
5) a final acheivement of the ultimate desire: an american football side - stoke like - of long throwers where the moaning can perpetuate itself till the end of the world.

the aquaducts

Well..ok then, apart from the aquaducts...
What has Rome ever done for..umm.. anyone..?

Perhaps, amongst some others, the written Codes of Systemic Laws, on which basis, modern civilization has been developed ...

You clearly appears as qualified as a Nobel prizer, but if I humbly may, I would suggest You to apply to the the worldwide renowned University of Manchester, which is close to You, for further advice.

I really hope you are joking mate.

i'd rather have Sven back than Hughes.

Absolutely.

Then again this "Bluemanc" chap comes through as complete turd whenever I read his posts here.

And what sort of "blue" would call Hughes "sp*rky"?

mancini will get it right over time, what everyone needs to remember is these players who are under performing were hughes' signings! they didnt exactly rip up any trees for him either considering all the bollocks about them not wanting him to go.

What progress have we made under Manchini?

0 have we gone backwards? Not sure!!

Maybe Manchini is a better manager and will get it right in time!!

If he needs time why sack Hughes mid season why not stay as we were and look at the situation in the summer!!

We may have even made the Carling Cup final by now!! Who knows???

Less draws, more wins, more points, moved up table, currently in pole position to take fourth place* regardless of our form.

* Subject to change. :P
