Not all doom and gloom: The next 4 PL fixtures

It's the players and manager's jobs not to underestimate opponents, not ours as fans. If we can't expect to be beating Newcastle, Bournemouth or Norwich at home then we shouldn't be expecting to be involved in the title race. If we don't go on to win then we deal with it but to say we shouldn't expect to win given the differences in our squad investment compared to those clubs is stupid.

Spot on.

Some people are more concerned about how other clubs perceive us, that they would rather play down our ability so we don't come across as arrogant.

The facts are that we should be comfortably beating Newcastle, Norwich and Bournemouth at home. Even Pellegrini was critical of our form against the newly promoted teams last year.

Id also hazard a bet that those people saying that they are tricky games would be the first to complain if we don't win and United open up a 10 point gap at the top of the table.

Whilst most people are mightily pissed off with today's performance and surrendering being top of the table to United, let's have a bit of perspective please.

We have Newcastle at home, Bournemouth at home, United away and Norwich at home in our next 4 PL games.

United have Arsenal away, Everton away, Us at home and Palace away.

Arsenal have United at home, Watford away, Everton at home and Swansea away.

We win our games, which we really should do, we can open a decent gap at the top of the league.

Then factor in that we should be getting our key players back and settled then we really could be in an ominous position.

Which is precisely why the powers that be were so keen to peg us back at Spurs. We really could have run away with things.

We had one of these types of threads a couple of weeks back, musing on the possible gap we'd have on Chelsea if we won our next x games and they didn't. I bumped it yesterday, so it shouldn't be too difficult to find. Let's just concentrate on Gladbach first, then start thinking about the Barcodes, eh?

The players and manager will be focusing on one game at a time.

As fans though, we can look and discuss the bigger picture.

It's perfectly reasonable to look at the next 4 fixtures which are extremely favourable to us compared to our rivals.

The fact that 3 of them are at home against teams who will more than likely finish in the bottom 6 means we should be taking full advantage.

The three home games have to be wins. You don't win titles with shit home records and we have had one stupid loss already. I don't think we can afford to drop more than 7 more points at home tops. It can't be against any of these three.

The united game will be interesting. Let's see how we do in that because last season we were shambolic there.

We need to get vinny bk fit but I fear he will be out till the derby yaya and silva are needed back asap too lets hope we can get through this next game without them and get them back for after the international break!

Vinny was on the bench yesterday and pulled out as he was ill.
Where have you got out until the Derby from?

And they'll all play out of their skins like they never have before cause they're playing us. Norwich for example, won't be easy as it looks as they'll play ten man behind the ball and more than likely have a good go going forward on the break exposing our at the moment, shakey defence.

United away i'm not looking forward to one bit, don't know about anyone else. They always seem to do the business at home against the bigger tean and atm, look far more lethal and accurate when it comes to putting away good chances. Obviously the meatheads in the fans will play a massive part like it or not.

Newcastle and Bournemouth, just see the norwich section. Never take any game for granted as we know already this season.

Obviously we're more than capable, i mean we went 5 games without conceding and scoring over 10 in the process. But we were also more than capble of keeping the scoring less than 4 today and capable of beating West ham at home.
As others have said if we really have got the best squad weve ever had (which I also think ) and we have aspirations of winning the title then the next 4 are must win games and yes we really should be winning them home games

Before the hammers game we had won 11 league games on the trot. I believe we have the ability in this squad to do so again. How many teams in the league can do similar?

Pellers said afterwards he had some problem with his calf in the warm up and is out in Wednesday! I meant after the international break I think he will be back! He won't be risked on Saturday imo

Ok i just looked at physio room and it still states I'll. Oh well fingers crossed.

After the 4 games mentioned, I personally feel the state of play at the top will look like this:

United top with 23
Arsenal 2nd with 21
Us 3rd with 20

If we only get 5 points then Pellegini should be sacked.

5 points from United and Spurs away and West Ham, Norwich, Bournmouth and Newcastle at home is relegation form.
