Suarez looks like a decent tricky litttle player with an eye for goal. I think he'd be an ideal signing to have a striker on the bench who you'd fancy to come on and nick a goal (It's painful to see RSC warming up when its 0-0 or 0-1). As he develops he may then be able to force his way into the first 11. Unfortunately Id rate it him as the kind of player you wanna pick up for about £12 million but Ajax will be looking for double that and he aint worth it. This is the problem at present everyone wants at least £25 mil for a prospect when that money should buy you a proven player.

I agree with you , most players are over valued ! but who cares , let the Sheik pays what it takes to bring the best players in the world to our team and let us enjoy the ride .

Understand what you're saying but Id rather we didn't have too many RSCs, Lescotts and Jos as it makes us look a laughing stock when we massively overpay for average/garbage players. Also adds more ammunition to themedia decrying our failed attempts to buy success. Im all for not worrying about the cash when we're in for the proven stars, Kaka<torres and co, or paying a bit more to attract players like Silva and Yaya but don't want us to spend £500 million to stay at Villa/Everton/Spurs level.

There is a difference between overpaying for average and below average players , and overpaying for unique players who will improve our team without a doubt such as Suarez and Ozil for example .

I totally agree with what you're saying and I rate Ozil as the kind of player, like Silva id be happy to overpay for. Im just not convinced that Suarez falls into that bracket. Goals in Holland don't mean a great deal. I could be wrong and he's a big star in waiting but as i say Im not sure, I think he's more Jermaine Defoe than David Villa.

-- Sat Jun 26, 2010 4:37 pm --
