try Singapore Airlines, its about the cheapest straight to Munich ATM think it was £226 return MAN-MUN last night. There was still cheap flights from East Midlands airport (about £40 out) the other day but you had to stay a week if you didn't want to pay a kings ransom back. Maybe try going out from EM airport and coming back on the 6.35 on Wednesday morning to Manc with Singapore.

EDIT http://www.bmibaby.com/book/cgi-bin/skylights.cgi £52.49 out from East Midlands on Mon 26,

Best return Munich to Edinburgh on Wed 28 169 Euro with Germanwings https://www.germanwings.com/skysale...m_East_Midlands_flights&ns_fee=54577&cs=FALSE
