Not only a magician a legend ....

As great a gesture as this is, why didn't the club get him one? The winners get 23 medals, and as many as they want can be made, at the club's expense.

Our owner is worth £20Bn, we have revenue of £350m and profits of £10m. Can we not find some money in the budget to give a medal to a kid who played 2 out of 6 games and scored a goal?

He's one of our academies brightest prospects, this is the first of hopefully many trophies he will win in a City shirt. Pay up and give him a bloody medal FFS.

I hope you're joking? I'm sure the club will knock up replicas for anyone who wants one just not in the hours immediately after the game. It's more about the gesture than the medal.

Times are hard, and difficult decisions have to be made. As for the club having a few bob; like my old man used to say (tight fucker), "look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves!.

The single most stand-out player I've seen play for the club and felt nothing less than what an on going privilege it is to see him having spent his prime years here. A complete professional, sublime player and all round outstanding footballer. We are truly lucky to have had him ply his trade here. Similar price to Balotelli, absolute miles apart in who gave us what for our money.

Long may he stay.

Only on blue moon could a positive and brilliant thing still get a negative post from someone!! ;-)

To be honest mate I'm not sure!?! It seems serious but I read it four times before I posted and thought it read as a serious gripe! Lol

If he doesn't actually get one its a serious gripe. He took part in it, he should be getting a medal and not be relying on Merlin donating his in order to get some recognition.

I think the chances are he is buzzing he has Silva's now, would rather keep that and will tell that story with pride for years to come.

Merlin, Hart, Kun, Zaba and VK makeour club. They define Manchester City. They live and breathe the club and you know they care about it in the long run and would sweat blood for it.

It's Not the clubs fault. What did you want them to do bring a mould into the pitch and make him one? And to bring money into it was why everyone was confused by your post. Great gesture by silva.

Silva walked up to Noel after the game and said 'You're always so kind when you speak about me, thank you very much for that' and gave him his shirt

He's like the opposite of the stereotypical modern footballer

Superb post love it!

I'm surprised no-one has said that Silva must be off; given that he cares so little about winning yet another trophy, he fobbed his medal off on an academy kid

I still remember thinking David was an out & out left winger who may be a little lightweight all be it talented when we were first linked with him. How wrong, one of the greatest and most influential players to ever grace the club. I'm sure Pep will love him, and he will carry on improving with age.
