Nottingham Forest (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Did they bollocks, a few fouls and we made as many.

Not one of ours went of injured, they went off because they were crap today.
Get your eyes tested, from the very start they tried to leave something on any city player they could. They were blocking and grabbing the shirts of any city player making a run. They were taking turns to hack at Doku and Phil.

It was no coincidence that the commentators said the game is opening up as soon as we took Nico off.
Rico and Kova's first involvement was to get in a mix up loosing the ball allowing a quick break away. The substitutions alone gave Forst impetus. From a position of control, chaos ensued and we returned to what we've seen for the last 4 months.

frustrating today. why do we always have to lose instead of draw when we cant score. a 0-0 draw would have been fine but instead we push up and now take the damage of a loss.

Well, that was shit.

Going to cheer myself up watchibg re-runs of Hi-de-Hi, and that’s shit aswell.

I couldn’t love another man as much as I do Pep. But fuck me what is he doing to this team at the moment? I don’t think I’ve ever been this frustrated in nearly 50 years supporting City. Miserable yes, but not as frustrated. That today was turgid, unimaginative, boring football. And there’s no excuse now. He had a week and a good squad to choose from and failed Spectacularly. Why? Because he refused to tweak his playing style.
I was so excited after the second half v Chelsea and the whole game v Newcastle because it was evident we were playing a style that suited our current players.
Chelsea and Newcastle couldn’t cope with Eddie’s long passes to or over Haaland and Marmoush. Perfect tactics for the squad we have available. Since then, nothing! We even have a defender in Khuzanov who can also play those passes. But no. Tap tap sideways tap tap loose possession!!! It’s mind numbing. He obviously refuses to play longer as a main tactic. It’s against his philosophy. Well City will be around long after he and indeed all of us pass on. He’s not more important than city. He’s deserved every minute of his free pass up to now. But after that today, and Madrid away, someone high up needs to have a word. He can’t continue to be so stubborn. We haven’t got the players now to play the way he wants. We’re in danger of finish 7th, 8th or even 9th. Bournemouth will have a field day against those tactics today. Problem is we don’t have anyone who’ll dare challenge him. Hopefully Viana has a pair of bollox big enough to do so.
Worrying!

Really disappointing result today. We played quite well but looked toothless up front. Overall we defended ok but there is no way Ederson should be getting beaten at the near post like that.

Unfortunately it’s time to call time on some players’ careers at City. Bernardo is a player I have loved for years but he’s contributing nothing now. It’s time to go. There are more but that’s for a different thread.

Wow and again wow!! You’d think we were Southampton or Leicester at the bottom of the league!
I think too many of our fans have
a) forgotten the success of the past few years
b) become extremely needy
c) forgotten just where we were when the new owners came in
d) started to feel entitled
e) forgotten that, despite their high wages, footballers are just ordinary human beings.

I’ve started to choose my reading very carefully recently as I’m getting more and more uptight about some of the postings.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion I will never dispute that but I find that so many of the threads are critical of the players and the management.
There are things they could do better possibly but I can’t remember the last time I started to read a thread that was a positive thread!
Sorry but it just concerns me that the club we, well ok I, love and have supported for so many years is being undermined at every step. Sorry. I will now retire to the naughty corner.
:-( :-( :-)

It wouldn’t be if it had creativity in the final third.

We don’t create anything in tight games or against good teams.

The pass pass pass football is supposed to be to get into situations where you can do something dangerous.

However: nobody slots through the runner when he breaks the line and is in space to run at goal, nobody plays those chips over the flat back line, nobody gets to the byline and pulls is back, nobody finds the right foot of Haaland where he can play it to his left in space for a shot, the only player who looks for a one-two in and around the box is a centre back playing as a left wing back, we don’t shoot from distance enough, nobody can cross, there absolutely no link-up play between Foden+Haaland (and never has been)…
I get that we don’t seem to create much but only the Dippers have scored more in 2025 and we just seem unable to keep a clean sheet. Sometimes, you don’t play great, but we just give the most stupid goals away. Not only that, but we’re giving them up very late in games. Goals I don’t see other teams conceding, at least not on a regular basis.
Rags at home, Brentford away, Madrid at home, Spurs should have equalised with the last kick, Feyenoord at home and Brighton away, off the op of my head. Season looks a lot different if we’ve kept a few of them out!

They are not playing like serial winners at the moment. I would drop Foden and Bernardo. Play Grealish central and play Echeverri. I don't care that he's 19. I want to see him play.
Pep needs to get every player back, and I mean every player, for the start of the next season.
That includes all the loanees like Perrone, Bah, Kabore, Callum Doyle etc. Maybe call in a few of the better youngsters uovro the squad.
Sell/release any of the older/ more injury prone players and pick the best squad from what is then available.
It is quite incredible that we don't have a permanent right back, having had Walker ,Couto and Kabore at the start of the season.
Anyone wanting to go, let them and don't even think twice about it.
Anyone player not deemed good enough and at an age where they are unlikely to improve should not be retained
I realise these players are on contracts but we were crying out for an Ake Akanji Stones today but not one of them available and not looking like they will be for the best part of the remainder of this season.

Some of you will nitpick and criticize Lewis for any and everything. He played well when he came on.

Against the top 10 this season away from home we have played 8 Won 1 Drawn 1 and lost 6. It's not good enough.

5 in a row? We can't go 5 games without getting beat these days
You just answered your own question
