Nottingham Forest (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Five points between fourth and tenth, all very close.
The biggest concern is we don't look up for the fight. Still needing to play Brighton, Bournemouth and Villa at home when our away results are pretty piss poor at best is going to put huge pressure on those games.

Not many chances in the game and they took theirs.

We looked like the 4th or 5th best team in the country there. Not easy to play against but everyone on the planet knows our weak spots and punishes us.

It's a bad season for Foden given this was when he was meant to take the crown off Kev. He looks a million miles away from being the creative lockpick we need, whether in the model of Kev or David Silva.

Bernie currently looks like the player people think they're criticising Grealish for.

Doku could be up there for one of most frustrating players I've seen for us on a natural talent/end product level.

Thought we did ok to restrict the 3rd best team in England at the minute to very little chances in the first hour.
Maybe should have been one up but the shots were poor.
Then fuckin Ederson again. Easiest of saves goes right past him. Be gone in the summer him
I reckon so.

I must be going soft as I hurtle towards 40 - I didn't think we were great, but not terrible.

Better team shaded it - very disappointed allowing Hudson -Odoi into the area full stop (let alone directly towards goal).

Not sure how the keeper was caught out by a relatively average effort. Not sure why he went one handed...........

Really? Who do you suggest then?
That's the problem, not sure who's better credential wise. I'd take JN buts he's occupied. I just want to watch the team play good football and I feel the players have got tired listening to the same voice.

And there I was hanging on for 87 mins! Mind, we have to be four to the good before yer can breathe. We ought to play the rugby rules and on 80 mins yer can boot it out for a point.

My disappointment will be assuaged by 12.30 tomorrow when GT picks a starting eleven issued with a set of instructions that emphasise all out attack and solid defence with the spearhead being DYNAMISM to record a resounding win against Villa that will have CWFC over the next four fixtures trembling. He will, won't he?

We just seem completely incapable of mounting anything close to a counter attack. We win the ball back in a defensive position and then wait for the opposition to regain it's defensive shape. It's so tedious.

It might have worked in the past when we had Mahrez or De Bruyne of old who could cut in and curl one in the top corner from outside the box when things were getting crowded in the middle but we don't have anyone of that ability at the moment except Foden and everyone knows to close him down now.

On the positive side Khusanov is going to be great.

Be interesting to see what Pep does next season. I think he has more than enough credit in the bank to believe he can come up with something new and allow a season of transition.

Fanny about, jockey don’t tackle, pull out of 60/40s, don’t shoot,& let Ederson do his usual thang
Shuffle up the pitch, go side to side for a few minutes, lose the ball and tear arse back down the pitch to stop the other side scoring.

I know you are hurt and pissed off , so am I ,,
take a walk and get fresh air or hunt your neighbors dog
Dead right I am
Don’t mind losing giving it a go
But that was so predictable
Did we even have a chance after they scored? We did pass it a lot side to side I suppose
I should be thankful for small mercies

I think pass pass pass football is dead
Passing is so important to the game, unfortunately we over pass (as you point out) but, for me the real issue is we don't pass with purpose and the players seem almost frightened to do anything off the cuff.
Over coaching is killing the game and has been doing so for a long time, but things are never as bad as they seem, we are fighting for a top 4 finish and play the FA cup quarter finals soon, their was a time most on here would snatch your hand off for that.
Injuries are also killing us, and we need to resolve the LB and RB issue this Summer, Fight till the end.

Just said the same to my son, he seems to have lost the ability to change things and make things better during games, in actuality, his changes today made things worse. Not sure if he has much or any say in who comes in (transfers) but if he does, he's losing it there as well.
Our transfers have been good.

But as for changes during games I didn't think we needed to make too many subs today. We were doing OK. There was a time when Pep wouldn't make any changes, stubborn as he was. I wish he'd have been a little more stubborn today.
