Nottingham Forest (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

It's all coming from the manager? Pep publicly said it's ok not to win because of the past 9 years.
Now, I am not a manager or one of the best managers in football, but I don't think I would be giving out free passes for a season to the players or making it known in the media we are waving the white flag,

Pep does not believe in balance and having fullbacks, If you are good with the ball, can play, have speed, you can be Manchester City's fullbacks, How many players has Pep asked to be our left back/right back ??

Today was shocking for many reasons, WE HAD A FULL FREE WEEK and a couple of days' rest and we could not give a fuck today, How Bad was Haaland Foden Silva Dias Gvardiol all of them could not give a fuck ? I even think Haaland would have had more touches from the bench warming up down the touchline.

Yes he is a world-class player but does it allow him a free pass when he does not fancy it,
Pep post-match interviews are also starting to show him up and enough is enough because its clearly not what we are all watching
I think he is trying to get him self sacked even though that is highly unlikely to happen.
We need to get back on our bike quickly if we are to get CL football next season. We are not in a good place currently and we quickly need a more positive mindset.

teams congest the middle and are quite happy for our wingers to have the ball. So they reduce the goal threat of Haaland and Foden. Our wingers create and score very little. I think Savinho plays better on the left.
I think we defended well for most of the game but what a Shit show for their goal.

Why have wingers when nobody gets in the box ?
Doku and Savinho have nothing to cross for or players running late at the back post

I missed the reverse fixture earlier this season but apparently Grealish had a very good game in the middle. So Pep why didn’t he play today? Also Pep, whilst we are at it, wtf have Silva or Foden done to deserve a start? wtf do we have half asleep Gvardiol fucking up every game? If things appear so fucking obvious why don’t we learn? For those hoping for some mythical rebuild well spoiler alert it isn’t going to happen. We have to somehow get a tune out of the current squad with one or two additions and a few departures (hopefully!) Rodri will take time to get back up to speed and will we ever see the amazing footballer he has been? Pep just spent the thick end of £200m, he may get the same in the summer but other clubs aren’t going to sell us their best players. You can excuse a manager if he tries something different and it doesn’t work, but this rinse and repeat shit isn’t good enough.
Unfortunately Grealish is just not doing the required work to be in the side. That’s clear. He did himself no favours with his night on the piss last week.

4 subs to change the game today and he isn’t one of them. There absolutely must be something going on with him this season.

Pep has earned his free pass this season but it cannot go on indefinitely or until he feels " the time is right"
If Pep was on top of his game there is no way some of these players would be allowed to perform as they have been this season.
In my opinion he is far from as focused as he would usually be and I believe a major factor is his personal life.
The year I split from my first wife was without doubt the most turbulent of my life, as much as I tried to keep spinning all the plates there is no doubt my work performance suffered markedly .He is as human as the rest of us in these situations and I would expect a drop off. That said he should be now through the worse however if he is shagging someone else on the quiet then the effort that goes into keeping these things quiet will also be a huge drain on him. If he has any skeletons he should get them out of the cupboard and start afresh. For his personal well being and the good of the team.
We will also get to know how fit she is. :)

A hugely damaging result squarely on the manager. Forest carried no threat for 60 mins - Pep takes off the hold & the only other midf who can run, & we duly concede. We played the last half hour with 3 cent midfielders who couldnt run or get up/down the pitch. Utterly senseless self-harm
100%

Why isn't Bobb included in the squad, he's training fine but absolutely zero sign of him. He's a shoe in for that right side when fit

Could be 7th best mate
  • Man City v Brighton - 15 March
  • Man City v Leicester - 2 April
  • Man Utd v Man City - 6 April
  • Man City v Crystal Palace - 12 April
  • Everton v Man City - 19 April
  • Man City v Aston Villa - 28 April
  • Man City v Wolves - 3 May
  • Southampton v Man City - 10 May
  • Man City v Bournemouth - 18 May
  • Fulham v Man City - 25 May

Any team that fancy a fight and wants it more than us will beat us, I don't think we will win at United and Everton or Southampton plus Brighton at home will hard

Counting on experiences players might mean we miss our on top 4. Fucking risk Echeverri, Bobb, O'Reilly over Gundo/Kova/Doku etc. We need fresh young legs.

You aren't allowed say that on here fella...Apparently Bobb has only shown glimpses.

For me, He's shown alot more in the games he has played than both Savinho and Doku.

At this rate I'd have Kiki Musampa back.

No real identity to how we approach games anymore is there? Aside from the usual side to side, slow build up.

I can’t remember the last time we saw a new tactic used. Which is amazing given how poorly what we have been doing has gone this season.

No new runs from midfielders, wingers, attackers, full backs. Nothing really. Just the same old, same old and it’s baffling.

Has Pep given up this season and just resigned himself to the fact the rebuild in the Summer will be the spearhead to new tactics? A case of why show other teams our tactics this season (in a year we won’t win the league) when we could hit them with it next? No idea. I assume so.

Pep’s sides are at their best when they’re moulded to the opposition and how to beat them. Something new every game as a way of breaking them down. Not seen that for a long, long time. And we’ve just had a week off to work on new movements, tactics!

If City turned up today and give it 50% I think we win the game at a canter

Tbh I doubt he could have done worse than Foden or Silva, plus he won’t have been drinking in the last few days so get him on. He cost a lot of money and is on £300k per week, he should be a star.
