Nottingham Forest (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

I've seen him a couple of times playing for the U-18's but I haven't seen enough of him to say if he should be in the senior team.

Having said that, What harm would it do giving him game time. I'd rather a young lad given the opportunity than watching Phil Foden scratch his nut sack.
Wonder if that’s why he has a bandage; too much nut scratching.

It's just a season of transition. The creative midfielder, who used to provide those through balls for the wingers to cross or move the ball into the box for an easy killer pass, is gone. Silva has left, and De Bruyne hasn’t been fully fit this season. The wingers have had to figure it out themselves, making it harder to play. The ball rarely reaches Haaland. Foden and others haven't reached that level yet. We've lacked balance for a while, which isn’t unusual—no team is ever perfect. Even in our best seasons, we weren’t flawless; we won titles without a proper striker or a defender who could consistently intercept the ball.

But this season, though we have a striker in Haaland and good wingers, we lack a creative midfielder, a solid defensive midfielder, and our defenders are still weak, even though things have improved slightly with the addition of Khusanov. The team needs a near-complete overhaul. Even with a great manager, the gaps are too large because we've spent too little for too long. Now, everything is falling apart at once, and we’ll just have to wait. It might not even come together next season. But as fans, we can still cheer, complain, or even call for changes—it's just part of being a football fan. Celebrate the wins, criticize the losses.

Pep has earned his free pass this season but it cannot go on indefinitely or until he feels " the time is right"
If Pep was on top of his game there is no way some of these players would be allowed to perform as they have been this season.
In my opinion he is far from as focused as he would usually be and I believe a major factor is his personal life.
The year I split from my first wife was without doubt the most turbulent of my life, as much as I tried to keep spinning all the plates there is no doubt my work performance suffered markedly .He is as human as the rest of us in these situations and I would expect a drop off. That said he should be now through the worse however if he is shagging someone else on the quiet then the effort that goes into keeping these things quiet will also be a huge drain on him. If he has any skeletons he should get them out of the cupboard and start afresh. For his personal well being and the good of the team.
We will also get to know how fit she is. :)
Whether Pep's personal circumstances have distracted him this season, I don't know. What he has to realise is that the players who have been so fantastic for the last few years can no longer perform together at that level. There has to be new blood in the team.

  • Man City v Brighton - 15 March
  • Man City v Leicester - 2 April
  • Man Utd v Man City - 6 April
  • Man City v Crystal Palace - 12 April
  • Everton v Man City - 19 April
  • Man City v Aston Villa - 28 April
  • Man City v Wolves - 3 May
  • Southampton v Man City - 10 May
  • Man City v Bournemouth - 18 May
  • Fulham v Man City - 25 May

Any team that fancy a fight and wants it more than us will beat us, I don't think we will win at United and Everton or Southampton plus Brighton at home will hard
If we can't qualify for champions league with those set of fixtures we don't deserve to especially with six home games

The question is not what the problems are nor how well the club performed in the past but what does the future look like?

Is there signs the ship will stabilise and get back to its best or are we still saying Rodri has to come back?

I am not seeing anything now that I haven’t seen since Rodri went off injured at Arsenal.

The players don’t seem fit nor do they seem to know how to cohesively attack together. The amount of ball possession with no intent is criminal. We play pointless football.

No shots no goal no link up = no points.

If you always do what you've always done, you'll only get what you've always had.

No necessarily so...... because most other teams are better coached now and are set up to counter City and nullify our tactics.

We are being hindered by the tactic that created the base of our success....possession.....possession....possession.

Twice as much as Notts today + more shots and corners, however unless Pep varies his base ideology the Centurians season will seem a long, long time ago.

Change or die !!

I missed the reverse fixture earlier this season but apparently Grealish had a very good game in the middle. So Pep why didn’t he play today? Also Pep, whilst we are at it, wtf have Silva or Foden done to deserve a start? wtf do we have half asleep Gvardiol fucking up every game? If things appear so fucking obvious why don’t we learn? For those hoping for some mythical rebuild well spoiler alert it isn’t going to happen. We have to somehow get a tune out of the current squad with one or two additions and a few departures (hopefully!) Rodri will take time to get back up to speed and will we ever see the amazing footballer he has been? Pep just spent the thick end of £200m, he may get the same in the summer but other clubs aren’t going to sell us their best players. You can excuse a manager if he tries something different and it doesn’t work, but this rinse and repeat shit isn’t good enough.
They all had 2 days off after Plymouth and Jackie decides to spend his clubbing it around the Med. I get players need to unwind and get away from football when they can during a busy season but it's hardly ideal preparation when you've already had a underwhelming season and you're playing for your starting spot for your club and hoping to get in the national squad for next year's World Cup.

I think the ultimate days can't be emulated. I don't anticipate another four in a row. However it needs to be remedied quickly to be back challenging. Look at the rags. It's a warning.

If we can't be bothered like today then it could be a long ten games
Players are being allowed to coast and Pep is letting it happen and plays them every week

I didn’t realise they’d all been on the piss again, like before last years FA Cup Final disgrace. Once again it falls at Pep’s door.

Look if Jack is on time and trains properly and is fully fit he can do whatever he likes on his days off

Some players play better after unwinding and having a blowout, Jack is an easy target and the price tag is always use against him, Again would Jack have been any worse than Foden Silva Haaland KDB

Their keeper didn’t have to make one decent save. Same as against the dippers. Our creativity is dire. Yes the shots stat will probably look good but I don’t remember us creating one good chance. Couple of pot shots from range but that’s it.
Spot on

We did create some good situations first half with the ball being played across but it needed to find a top class player 20 yards out (Rodri) to hit it, but the shots were woeful.

It does my head in how Doku and Savinho and others, do the hard work then play a low ball to the near post WHERE WE NEVER HAVE ANYONE ATTACKING.

What the fuck do the coaches and Pep see when analysing these performances, the oppo can see it and snuff out 99% of our attacks.

I honestly thought Forest weren't very good today but our attack meant they didn't have to be.

I thought Jack was in a Working Man's Club ?

If he can't or won't get into City's current 11 he won't even be considered for Tommy's lot.

Not sure any of the others were - just Jack was photographed out on the piss. I'm sure Pep was not impressed though he deflected any questions about it away in his presser.

They were very average. Organised and hard working but they would have been delighted with a 0-0 and I think they played for a draw. Shocking game for us to lose given how average they were. Our level is low currently. I can’t see it changing. Brighton is a must win game next week now, I can see us struggling away from home all season as we have done so home games need to be wins.
