Nottingham Forest (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

We played them at home and hit quick long balls over the top and beat them 3-0. Same personnel. Pep decided that he would out-coach himself today because he didn't employ that tactic
Let face it. He's fucking AWOL this year.
We look like a poorly coached side full of complacent players who play at half-pace. Our standards have fallen a lot. That's on Pep.

teams congest the middle and are quite happy for our wingers to have the ball. So they reduce the goal threat of Haaland and Foden. Our wingers create and score very little. I think Savinho plays better on the left.
I think we defended well for most of the game but what a Shit show for their goal.
The wingers (Savinho/Doku/Grealish/Bernardo) are virtually zero goal threat. Savinho has 2 goals in 36 games. Im not digging the lad out, he’s young and has some talent but on minutes played he’s our number one Winger and not delivering anywhere near enough. That just cant be right for a team wanting to be competing for titles.

He should be 4th choice (Doku 3rd) with 2 world class wingers starting most weeks (like Sane/Sterling/Mahrez/etc). Savinho should be being introduced to the team slowly and gaining experience. Not starting so many games. Its not fair on the lad, we've set him up to fail…

Granted the form of Grealish and Bernardo hasn't helped, however that should have been dealt with by last summer. Bernardo has wanted to leave for 3 years. We’re paying for keeping him now, looks totally disinterested!! Grealish is 1 goal in 10 in the 4 years he’s been here, just not acceptable!! Big changes required!!

Viana has a big job on his hands. Issues at GK, RB, LB, AM, Wingers and back up striker at least

This is a season of collapse, next season is a season of transition and I honestly feel a new manager would be beneficial to the new style of football that seems to be emerging.

Just think Pep will not adapt to this new landscape, evidence being we have the players that can play fast and direct but he insists on short passes and overloading the midfield, countless times this season teams just sit back and counter, how many losses does it take for Pep to realise it doesn't work. I don't care how bad we are, we shouldn't be losing to Forest, the team today consisted of 6 treble winners.

There's a difference between players downing tools and players that just don't believe in the philosophy and you're clearly seeing the latter, just look at the effort being put in.

I'd be happy for Pep to stay if he adopted a more direct style of play; Chelsea (H), Madrid (H), Newcastle (H), Brentford (A), Spurs (A) but its clear he will not be changing how he sets up his team to attack, Haaland is being wasted, Foden doesn't give a toss, Bernardo is ineffective, bringing in Fernandinho or any other legend wont help, we'll be stagnant unless the manager changes.

Who are these good wingers you speak of and why dont we play them instead of Doku and Silvinho?
Debatable. Are they really better than Sterling or Sané during their peak seasons with us? Back then, Silva and De Bruyne sliced through defenses, setting Sterling and Sané up to shine and enjoy the best campaigns of their careers. It wasn't just individual brilliance—it was the team’s balance that made it all click. That’s exactly what we’re missing now: a cohesive balance elsewhere in the squad.

Tbh it’s probably sooner than later. In fairness the owners have brought in good managers, Mancini, Pellegrini and Pep, all PL winners. I hope they have a good short list.

It’s not Pep, it’s because age has caught up with KDB, Silva and Gundo. Plus too many injuries and loss of form from Foden.

Can't argue with that mate.
Injuries this injuries that..

No rodders this no rodders that..

We still have quality players that are better then most of the league.

Should still be playing better and winning more games.

Excuses excuses..

We are not the dog and duck and managed by Pearce anymore.

We all know what peps done in his time here and expected a drop off at some point but this season has been shit by our standards let's be honest.

The only way these 2 can be compared with Leroy and Sterling is to show how inferior they are. Both wingers attacked the full backs, got in crosses and scored goals. These 2 look like they cannot do 2 out of 3 of these things.
Then we throw in Mahrez, out of all 5 I've mentioned, Doku & Silvinho would would always occupy 4 and 5th out of 5

Weird, isn't it - if they were coming on against us with 20 leggy minutes left, I'd be really concerned. Yet knowing what they produce (apart from 1/5 games for Doku, 1/15 games for Sav) I never fancy them doing anything other than flatter to deceive.
What I'd give to have a Mahrez again...

You aren't allowed say that on here fella...Apparently Bobb has only shown glimpses.

For me, He's shown alot more in the games he has played than both Savinho and Doku.

At this rate I'd have Kiki Musampa back.
Doku and Savinho flatter to deceive 95% of the time don't they mate, so so poor today. Bobb and Grealish will probably be our first choice wingers for the remainder of the season
